This team is historically bad defensively and MDA is obviously the better offensive coach. I wonder if he would still resign if he knew Lin would be traded for, and if he's here, what exciting bball we'd be watching. Why, why, why???
Of course, Scott is better at commanding!
I don't know why people keep saying this. Our team offensive rating is good for 14th in the league so far with minimal sync. Our offensive rating even when we were 0.500 last season for the first 20 or so games was 22nd and below league average.
The team TS% this season is well below league average so it means we just have terrible shooters but still we manage to do well offensively because we are top 5 in drawing FTs per FGAs (TY Kobe) and offensive rebounding percentage (TY Hill).
We are not even a slow pace team this season, we are 7th in the league in terms of pace. The offense is just not the issue. Never was. It surely could improve if Kobe played smarter and some other guys pulled their heads out of their asses to make some perimeter shots. D'Antoni had 4 players shooting over 40% from 3 and Nick Young just around 39%. Scott's barely had that kind of weapons.
Our defense this season is historically bad. One of the reasons is that we foul a **** load, conceding the 2nd most FTs per FGA for any team.
Keep saying what? This team is historically bad defensively that's a fact. That MDA is the better offensive coach? MDA has shown that with the right personnel he's one of the best in the league in offense, it's well known. It's just that his D sucks. I don't think it's fair to say MDA isn't good at O just by last year. Unfortunately his O didn't fit with his best player left Gasol, as the two best players, Kobe and Nash, were out.
Scott's teams, including NJ, were never great at O. He has to get the D to play good in order to be considered better than MDA. He starts two bigs who are bad at help and interior d. I give him a break tho cuz maybe he's trying get that pick. It's no knock on him to say that his O isn't as good as MDA, it's the D that's the main problem, and there should be no doubt cuz it's historically bad.
Whenever he decides to start Davis and have Boozer off the bench, pretty much the only sensible solution, I'll change my tune. But again, the pick? ~lol~
