Williams helped the Toronto Raptors to a 3-0 week, finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference with 23.7 ppg and ninth with 2.0 spg.
HERE

Are we sure we even WANT Danny Ferry to return as GM?

There is something important : they talk with Williams, and they agreed that Bud system is not the best for him, and that he would be able to play his game in TOR. That was supposed to be a win-win option.
If Williams was here, maybe he would put the same numbers, but it means that the others 4 players on the floor are scoring 15 less points because there not the same ball movement than now, what's the point ?

They decided to keep/get players matching the system, that's all.

It's a bit sad that we didn't get more from this trade, but I understand why the trade was done, both for the team and for Williams.

Hes something this team doesnt have, a SCORER.

And we gave up a Center project.

So.........thats semi relevant to this thread.

I think what irks me more and more is seeing a 12ppg player at 5 million walking away WITH a Center (who granted may NEVER play) for................ nothing.

I think if you are going to go for it you GO FOR IT

Uhm no, a scorer is not relevant to a thread about getting big men. It's even less relevant because he was a scorer that made it even more of an issue to have a center on this team. Do you get that? Not one of 3 prospects that maybe someday in the near future may actually break into the rotation but an actual productive day to day player that could cover for both Louis' own defensive liabilities and the liability of playing an undersized backcourt that can't assist an undersized frontcourt today.

This is the common sense of the matter. Louis was not some unknown quantity, he did not have this static value that exists all throughout a vacuum in the NBA just because he's a scorer. He's a COMBO scorer, a big part of how the leading scorer on a playoff team goes on to only sign for 5 million dollars in the first place is because there are a lot of deficiencies both in his game and his value to a team. How many combo guards from Mo Williams to Nate Robinson to Leandro Barbasa to even the last pick this board bitched about giving up in Jordan Crawford have bounced around in and out of the league in addition to totaling less money this year than what JR Smith is making? Why is that exactly? Does it have anything to do with their size and/or basketball being played on two sides of a court?

To a team sporting a 6'6" PG and big frontline it's a lot easier to incorporate a 6'2" SG and make him useful than to the 27 other teams in the league. This means you are entirely delusional as to whatever value you think Louis or any bench combo guard has and what he could possibly get you in a trade.

Horford, who missed the last three months and 50-plus games of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, has been on a 32-minutes per game limit.

"Part of it is I don't feel great as far as my shape goes," Horford said. "Physically, I'm fine. I feel good physically. But just my conditioning. I've just got to keep feeling better and keep pushing through it."

Still expecting Horford to shake off the doldrums and get back to himself by February. He missed 10 months of game playing and is still shaking off rust.
