Mack should be pleased. He played darn well.

on a completely un related topic, I still don't like how much John jumps to pass.
He gets away with it a lot but it's still a fundamentally unsound play. ATL was
laying and waiting for him in that situation last night.

 Thanks for starting me out this morning with a hearty laugh. The brilliance of Grunfeld, toy-around with Mack, discard Price, then rush to lock-down Eric Maynor for two years.

I was not a fan of Mack's lack of quickness, but he could have been a 3rd PG.

For the love of God, will we ever get a young PG on this team that provide what John lacks in his game? Perhaps it will be Sato, but you'd think he'd be looking to go someplace where he can get solid minutes IF he comes-over with teams interested in him.

What for? He's played 32 minutes tonight, he's out of sync with the rest of the starting lineup. There's no flow, ball isn't moving, nothing. START YOUR BEST PLAYERS!!!!

Second, Wall's defense has been horrendous all season. Every point guard he has faced has killed him. Tonight it was Jeff Teague, tomorrow it will be Irving.

Just a horrendous game, I think the Wiz looked past this game and wanted Cleveland.

Honestly, this isn't on Wall. the NBA isn't a 1 on 1 game. The scheme that Randy runs pretty much wants the PG to usher the opposing ball handler into the lane, where a shotblocker will be waiting for him. The problem is, we don't have an athletic shotblocker. Jeff Teague was feeding off the floaters and Mack was making big plays.

I would like to see that scheme changed to keeping he ball handler on the perimeter and forcing them to make entry passes into the lane.

This is why I don't understand Randy's reluctance to go into a zone in certain circumstances. Even if we only do it for a few possessions it can disrupt the opposing team's momentum. Also agree with those that wonder why Temple is getting minutes that Butler should be getting and enough with the over reliance on switching.

The results of all the switching on defense by the Wizards was absurd; wasn't that one of the frustrations with EJ's defensive schemes? Watching Teague one-on-one against a slower big was painful. The Bullets missed Nene some because even though it is not ideal, Nene is much more capable if he finds himself defending a lightning bolt like Teague. Neither Hump nor Gortat could keep up.
