Lakers, Earl Clark working on a one-year deal, league sources told Yahoo. He's averaging nearly 30 points for Houston's D-League affiliate.

I like Clark. He can play decent on both ends of the floor. That said, it's an addition that isn't going to blow anyone away I don't think.

Great, another PF! Wouldn't mind him back though, makes open shots, defends well and blocks shots in the paint as well.

Makes you wonder, don't it...
If we weren't playing Hill and Davis as C's, I'd say one or both was gone... Hill and Kelly to some far off land where teams win basketball games?

"Can't win the Kentucky Derby with a donkey"...

I can't believe we are at the point where we get excited to have "Easy Earl" back in purple and gold... Stern screwed us BAD... Nice to see CP3 running the point... Ouch...

Cool, will be interesting to see how much he was just a product of Pringles, but he really worked hard for us and I imagine it will be lift for him to be back where he earned his dough.

Isn't Clark more of a SF type? anyways if he's suited at the 4.... then one of the FC players will probably be packaged in a trade... probably Kelly or Hill.

Kelly is young, cheap and has value. You do not trade away a player like that just because you picked someone off the waiver wire. I think they plan to play Clark at SF, he can handle it. The loss of Henry has really spread the back up SF pretty thin and Wes Johnson at his best is a barely passable NBA player.

Not saying anything negative about Kelly.... but to me... it looks like he's gonna deal with a alot of lingering injury issues for most of his NBA career...... I'm not sure what's the point in keeping him if he's gonna get hurt most of the time......

Probably the only signing that makes a lot of sense now. We need more defensive players. Would be nice to see Earl Clark and Ed Davis protecting the paint.

Why not? I always wondered why people were so big on Kelly. He wouldn't make any teams roster other than ours in the nba.

I liked Earl a lot when we had him, and hoped he came back. Regardless of whatever it is we're doing this year, this is good news

I thought he was actually better at center than gasol that year. He was a better rim protector for sure. Definitely wasn't a Dwight, but better than gasol that year. I think earl has been misused his whole career, he definitely is better at the 4 and 5 on defense. He's imo a good stretch 4/5.

He's better than Boozer and hopefully he can just flat out take the backup 4 job. He's actually solid at that spot.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
