That's why I think the key to the game (like it has been all year) is for the Cowboys to let that o-line lean on the Eagles defense. Let them get mean and let them show the Eagles just how good they are. The Eagles have a good pass rush but the front 7 are smaller guys. Just like in every other game this year the defense will wear down in the 3rd and 4th quarter. The more they run the more you keep the Dallas defense off the field.

Let's hope they get back to what they did at the beginning of the year and run the ball more on 2nd down and even on 3rd when possible. Too many times the last few weeks we've been passing on 2nd down and in the red zone. The rushing yardage has still been there, but the commitment has not. One of the main reasons our 3rd down conversion rate was so great early on was because we had such a short amount to pick up. Two runs may get you 3rd and 2 or even a first down. Plus, as you mentioned it keeps the defense off the field and shortens the game.

Commitment has you describe involves 10 plus carries from backs not named Murray...which I don't necessarily disagree with...but I also think the passing game is a big part of the balance they are trying to achieve. I just think tendencies matter, which shouldn't take away from Murray's 25 touches or the pound mentality.

Yes. Not all Murray. Dunbar and Randle should be getting carries also. This allows us to continue with what has worked well this year and at the same time not running Murray into the ground or tiring him out. Randle has run the ball well this year and the screen pass to Dunbar Sunday night was an example of the skill set he has and really no one else other than maybe Harris can do those things on this team.

Don't get me wrong...I love the fact we can run the ball with 8 at the LOS. That in itself is why this season is better than any since 09 IMO. I think you have to throw as well and it's easy to say after the fact. One thing I know, this team will run the football, I just don't think that alone gets you over the hump. I'd really like to see this team come out Thursday throwing the football off play action....maybe pass to set up the run.

Balanced seems a certainity...which is good by me

Yes, i think one of the big changes is running against 8 in the box instead of automatically audibling. I heard a stat on Murray's YPC on the radio. Against 8 in the box he was over 5 YPC. even against 9 in the box he was over 3. That seems even more amazing when you add in short yardage or goal line carries.

Just take care of the ball. Not just Murray - even though he seemed careless with it last week, but everyone.

I agree. If we play well and DON'T turn the ball over, the Egals will have a tough time beating us. Special teams, please be on high alert.

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one that noticed they've been throwing a lot on 2nd down lately. They need to commute to running in 1st and 2nd down with the occasional play action to throw the defense off. That eats the clock and puts them in 3rd and short most of the game. I also can't understand why in the hell they don't have Dez running across the middle of the field more. They can't double him if he's running sideline to sideline. If would also give him the chance to do what he does best and that's run after the catch.
