We must Trade Amare ASAP. Tank or no tank; he's difficult to watch.

The end result was not desirable but this was HANDS-DOWN the BEST PERFORMANCE by the Knicks so far this season.

If you can't agree with that...turn in your NBA credentials card right now.

You saw great ball movement. Guys stepping up and making plays. For nearly the entire regular season, the Knicks WERE the better team without Carmelo Anthony. This IS the team that we hoped they would aspire to be.

In the end, Acy rotating late leaving Prigs vs Dirk mismatch was the dagger.

MAD PROPS and love to Tyson Chandler. Yea, sure Chandler took nights off but you can make a case for EVERY ONE on that team not showing up. Chandler sent a message and that message was received.

We need guards/wings who can drive and finish or get calls!

Mudiay, Jackson, Dragic, Matthews, D.Green, G.Green, B.Night, S.Johnson

We need at least two of them next season...

Who cares how many rebounds Tyson has. Can't defend and can't score. Leader my butt. He quit.

Ok let's stop this dialogue that team is better without Melo, Jose has been out all year, and kind of got his groove/timing back last night. It has more to do with that than the coincidence of Melo being out.

Not sure how to interpret this. On the one hand if we have a guy who goes ISO a lot (not that that is a bad thing mind you) then when he is out of the game, the team is a bit naked and perhaps can't adjust and start scoring. This makes sense. On the other hand, if Melo is out of the entire game, then the team has no choice but to move the ball as a matter of fact, as outside JR, they don't really have any shot creators.
Moral - Be careful with stats.

One of the reasons our offense was smooth last night was the opposing center was Tyson Chandler.

I do remember you saying something along the lines of playing the role of the poster that stirs things or whatever before the season began.

So I know posts like this are complete bullsh*t.

also we took a ton of 3s and made them. dallas is one of the worst 3 point defense teams. they're nearly as bad as us.

And our starting point guard is actually playing, and shook the rust off last night.

But what do you think we could get for Melo in a trade?

The way posters here talk, he is an albatross contract that is untradeable.

Really getting worried about the Pistons and Hornet tanks. Although at least they have young talent they are molding so they are bound for a winning streak at some point,we just suck.

Neither of those teams is tanking. The Pistons have a terrible roster that makes no sense and will not win more than 25-28 games. The Hornets could still end up around .500, too much talent for them to be this bad.

Danilo Gallinari
Jeremy Lin
2nd rd pick (x2)

I think that would make alotta people around here very happy.

y'all are the same people who slander every knicks player and will praise them, when they're on a winning team next season.

There comes a point where winning doesn't do much when your best shot is an 8th seed, and you just killed your chance (and I emphasize chance, cause I'm not guaranteeing anything) at a potential all-star or franchise player. I'll just bring up Michael Sweetney in 2003 in a loaded draft, and how winning hurt the Knicks greatly when that team should of just tank for a top 5 pick. And if you mention the many busts in the draft, I can mention as much franchise or all star players that were picked by a team that just sucked the year before. So you can be "F the world" attitude and trying to win every game, but you will be shaking your head if they get the 9th seed and be stuck in the worst possible spot you can be in (which they have been in the past decade when they had their own draft pick. Look it up and see how many players they lost out on by being average, and not just sucking and tanking).

I don't see much difference between this team picking 5th and 11th. We will not break the top 4 with Melo on the team, it just won't happen. If the team can start playing better as the season progresses, they might as well shoot for the 7-8th seed and try to get in a competitive series with Raptors/Cavs/Bulls which could be good experience for the young guys.

Well, if he has a herniated, or multiple herniated, discs in his back, then yeah that might be a problem. But otherwise, no. I was just messing with you anyhow about the return on a Melo trade. I don't think he's going anywhere one way or the other. But it is an interesting question.

I rather have the 5th pick. You can still get a young player and develop him into a potential starter. Hell if this team gets the 5th worst record in the league I still the chances of going into the lotto and seeing what happens. Over half the team is gone next season, playoff experience isn't that much of a priority unless you think Hardaway needs playoff experience, cause he is the only young guy I see possibly coming back.

Even without Ws the improved play probably does show that a top 3 pick is not at all likely.

But Happy Tanksgiving nonetheless.

Even if we don't get a top 3 pick, there are still plenty of players that can be good. It's not a top 3 pick or lose.
