It's just you.

He's off to a slow start this year (like he was last year) but he's one of the few players that you can visibly see improve year over year, and every season he comes back with something new to add to his game.

And if you watch the games, you can see that his play has gotten better every season, regardless of this season's slow start. Maybe you shouldn't look at just his numbers?

Kenneth Faried - $50m/4 years from 2015-16 to 2018-19
JaVale McGee - $44m/4 years from 2012-13 to 2015-16
Danilo Galinari - $42m/4 years from 2012-13 to 2015-16

Obviously you'd prefer that the owners and front office don't meddle with the on-court stuff, but you'd think they'd be putting a bit of pressure on to at least see some return for their investment, even if that "return" is simply seeing these guys on the court more. I know you have to pay someone the big dollars (to hit that minimum salary floor), but it's kind of bizarre and stupid how much money they're paying for that trio to sit on the bench so much.

You do realize that 2 of the 3 players you listed are currently on minute restrictions as the work their way back from their injuries don't you?

I understand that, and I'll concede on Gallinari, as he was playing 30+ minutes and starting regularly prior to his knee injury. McGee though has averaged just 17.7 minutes per game and has started just 10 games for Denver since being traded there in March 2012. He's been on "minute restrictions" for a couple of years now, even before his injury-riddled time last year.

McGee didn't even play in pre-season, so he's just working his way back in. But anyway yeah that one could have been a mistake and regardless I don't want to see him on the floor just because he makes a lot of money. If he's not ready and/or contributing, play the guys who are.

I'm not worried about Gallo and Faried. Gallo will get back to form and Faried just has to figure out a few things. He'll be back to closer to 30 minutes soon enough. But again, whatever the right amount of minutes is for the team is what's important not his minutes played/$ paid ratio.

No...have you seen Faried play defense? That's why he doesn't play at the end of games. In a half court game Faried is not all that good. I also think he's a little tired after playing this summer. Just because the front office paid him doesn't mean Shaw has to play him.

farieds defense is questionable and his shots havent been falling. i will say that shaw isnt utilizing faried's abilitys in the most efficient way possible. faried got his nickname "manimal" from basically being the ultimate scavenger on both ends of the floor. he'll get loose balls and run the floor and whatever cookies fall out of the cookie jar (rebounds) hes was always sure to be there to put it back in.

under shaw, we give faried iso post feeds....... -__- that baiscally sums it up. the reason every gm in the league wanted faired at one point was becasue they were like, "theres a kid out there that we dont have to run a single play for, and he'll still come away with at least 12-13ppg and 10 rebounds and play every play like his life depended on it, and he wont complain!) watching faried catch the ball on the block is sometimes hilarious because he only has 1 post move. depsite all that though, i would like to see faried continue to start with a slight increase of min

It's kind of weird that he is the type of player he is, getting by mostly on athleticism, hard work and hustle, yet his defense is his main weakness.

Same goes for J.J. Hickson, who is a similar player.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

We're badly overpaying for Faried and McGee.

Evidently McGee is never going to "get it" and is clearly being outplayed by Mosgov.

Faried is simply too small to be a full time PF. Energy is great, but you don't pay that kind of money for a role player.

I agree with Mac.
Hickson is playing very well At Pf spot.
Hickson & Arthur are playing with alternatives over offense.
With pick and roll or pick and pop.

you follow the Nuggets at all then you know that Faried and Shaw reportedly do not like each other and do not speak to each other. Add to that Shaw is not very good at putting guys into the best position to succeed for them, and tries to force guys into roles that he envisions, it really is no surprise that Faried is struggling to get minutes.

He wants Faried to be like Pau Gasol at a minimum and Faried is not that guy, yet Faried was very productive under Karl, he was very productive when Shaw had no choice but to play him at the end of last year, and he was very productive for the Olympic team, which all tell me that Faried is not the problem here. Everybody that Faried has played for loved the guy, except Shaw.

It is pretty evident that besides you, Rebel, and seorang and the OP, nobody else in this thread DOES really follow the Nuggets.

take a look at this, hickson has the best on-off net rating. what does that speak about what faried contributes?

The more I watch Faried the more I think he might need to be traded, for whatever reason (could be his relationship with Shaw or with the front office or some combo of both) Faried is not giving the energy he always has. At the rate he is going he is going to kill his trade value while being misused and not showing his usual energy.

He was a different player with Karl and a different player in USA basketball. That tells me all I need to know about Shaw's ability to motivate players. At this point if they are going to stick with Shaw for all of his contract just trade Faried so he can be a good player on another team like Fournier did. Lol.
