Sunday Night Thanksgiving

Post#1 » by Cowboycolors » Fri Nov 28, 2014 3:19 am

Eagles kicked Dallas Butt.

However I bet that the NFL never has a Thanksgivingday Team play the Sunday "night" before the game again

Its not an excuse as the coaches and players say but I call BS on that kind of travel and turnaround for a Thursday Turkey day game or Thursday night game.

I thought about this already. Maybe it doesn't make a difference but having a team play on the road late on Sunday when their Thursday opponent is already tucked away in bed is unfair. I wouldn't have a complaint if Dallas played in NY at 1:00 PM. Hell Dallas probably left NY around 1:00 1:30 AM NY time arriving in Dallas unrested around 6AM Dallas time.

I agree I doubt we see this kind of scheduling again.

It was obvious that was a stupid and probably an unfair thing to do, but that had zero impact on the ass kicking IMO. We also had a bye week before the two games, so that would offset some of the fatigue and bumps and bruises too.

I don't think it had "zero impact" on the game. Our offensive line was obviously gassed by the end of the game. Some of that credit goes to the Philly defensive line, of course, but our guys looked second rate to them by the third quarter.

Time will tell, but I bet the ten days we're off after next Thursday will reveal a huge difference in what impact that Sunday night game had. I'm guessing Murray will get well over 100 yards and we will score more than ten points by the end of the third quarter.

I don't think it will change the outcome of the game because I don't see our defense stopping their offense, though, to be fair, if the shortness of time had an impact on the oline, it must have had an impact on the dline also. Couple that with a fast moving offense and our guys just looked like they were two steps behind the eagles all day.

I don't know. I want to see us play again. Who knows maybe Philly plays better on offense and turns 2 of the 4 figs into Tds and they beat us 41-10. Defensively, we have to stop the run and make Sanchez beat us. He may do it, but better that than letting a team just run it down your throat like they did. It's time to make a move in the secondary, whether it's replacing Carr, Wilcox or both. Patmon should be returning soon. Hamilton is better in coverage supposedly. This soft zone with our players just isn't working.

Offensively, go back and look at all of our drives. We had one clean drive, where we didn't screw something up ourselves. Now the Eagles had a lot to do with it, but we just did not execute at all. The first drive of the game was stopped but there could have been a PI. Second- TD. 3 rd- miscommunication or bad pass to Witten. 4rth- Fredrick snapped it too soon. 5th- Beasley fumble. / 2 nod half- 1st drive- we run on 3rd and 3 and get 1 yard. 2nd drive- FG but we had it 2 nod and 1 at the 4. 3rd drive- Int. 4rth drive- stopped on 4rth and 1. 5th- 3 and out. 6 th- Int.

That's about as bad as it gets on offense.

Ignoring Jacksonville because its Jacksonville...when was the last time he was awesome? I told you last week I thought he looked horrible. He hasn't been his normal accurate self, he hasn't thrown the ball away when he should (like usual), he is throwing ducks, under throwing most deep balls and has no zip on his passes. If he doesn't play better than he has the last month and a half we won't make the playoffs (we may not even if he plays better).

Analogy time. Romo to Jarntt is like Me to my wife. Neither of us ever do things good enough.

Well, maybe it's you, not your wife because there were as many people that called me a Romo Lover as a Romo Hater. Some people can't see passed their biases, I'm not one of them. You've admitted yourself many times how you can't be objective with Romo

Man I have never seen you say one good thing about the guy until you posted that he threw a perfect spiral etc to Dez the other day. I have never seen you labeled a Romo lover.

I really can't imagine some of the disagreements we would have had from 96- 2000 ish if we were on the same forum then. I was the same way with Aikman as I am Romo and believe me Aikman had some really terrible games

And just to help you out one more time Malko, here you are. I found all 3 threads for you regarding both Dallas vs. Egals for this year. I mean that's all you talk about on all the other threads. Now that I found all of them for you, try getting your thoughts in here so you aren't trolling.
