Can't believe how bad we played

No excuses. ThAt was a butt kicking in the trenches . Our lines were dominated both ways. Bad day to lay an egg. I knew Philly was good, but I wasn't expecting that.

Nobody expected that. Just about every prediction I saw had Dallas winning which surprised me. I picked Dallas to win but these seem like 2 very similar teams to me.

I saw those same predictions. I too was shocked that most everyone was going Cowboys. Romo was bad today, but I couldn't believe the coverage the Eagles had. I have about seen enough of Williams. He just doesn't get open. I didn't understand Street getting to play so much either. Harris needs more snaps on offense as does Escobar. Murray looked a step slow today too. If you ask me Benny Logan was right. The DLine of the Eagles whipped that offense all day long. I can't even begin to talk about the defense.

I tried to tell some open minded people here that the Eagles D is actually OK but PDay mocked and laughed me off. Maybe he understands now. Both teams wont be taken seriously until the secondaries are upgraded. Im sure Dallas will be ready for the rematch in 17 days.

I've thought your defense has been quite good actually. The secondary gives up about 2 or 3 huge plays a game. Today you gave up 1. I knew they would double Dez. I thought it would be a big day for Witten and Williams. Just an awesome job by the Eagles today.

Im shocked Dallas didnt complete more long plays. I mean week one Jacksonville had a ton of long plays, the Skins did, the Rams did, GB (well lets forget that game haha) but GB had tons of long plays. Maybe the idea of focusing on Murray wasn't the best strategy.

People say you run the rock to open the pass. But it works in reverse too. Maybe Dallas comes out next game trying to get the pass game going first and then leaning on Murray. YOu just got to accept the blow outs. Happens to every team. Youre never as good as you think and never as bad as you think. I love the strategy of football and will be interested to see what Dallas does with the extra time to game plan for game 2.

Did you see Dez coming out saying the Eagles cheap shotted the Cowboys and he's ready for the next game. THe only cheap shot I noticed was on the Cowboys kick returner???

I guess it depends on your definition of OK. I think the two defenses are about the same. if you want to call one OK i think you need to call the other OK. I think they can pressure the QB, but im not sure what else they are "good" at. One game against a QB that played poorly isn't exactly an indicator of a teams ability, but they looked very good yesterday.

I know you guys disagreed with me last week, but this is exactly how I thought Romo played last week. It just happened to be that there were a lot of open receivers last week and it didn't matter that he was off as much. He still has no zip on the ball, under throws most deep passes and that half step he has been giving the defense can often be the difference between a completion and a pass that is broken up. I'll say it again...does he understand that throwing the ball away in the red zone is the smart play that every other QB knows? Instead of us being able to go for it on 4th and short he takes a sack. Sail the damn ball out of the end zone.

And the pass defense and the open field tackling was horrendous. The middle of the DL was dominated against the run continuously. LBs didn't seem to be able to fill any gaps and got sealed off. Wasn't in the best situation to watch the game with all the people/kids around, but did anyone on our defense not play poorly?

You think Garrett goes for it right there?? No way. That was a full 2 yards.

They basically destroyed our great OLine yesterday. They stuffed Murray all day. I would say that was our main goal as well-don't let MCCoy get going. One team had 95 yards rushing and one went for more than 250.

I'm not sure we had a guy on either side of the ball that graded out better than a D in that game. Bailey and Harris did their jobs. I don't know why Street is getting to play over Harris now on offense.

I don't know how much of the Bears game people saw yesterday, but they basically threw it every down the first half. Short passes.

I said these were both bad D's but Phillys was better and I got mocked by PDay. After watching that game it isnt obvious??? We came into the game 2nd in sacks and have been playing well against the run for a while now. The front 7 is playoff ready. The back 4 need to be let go. So it wasnt just one game Jarntt.

Like I told Malko on the other thread, I expected this kind of a game and I expect it again the next time we play, but don't think it will be as lopsided.

The Sunday night game did seem to have an affect on our guys. They were gassed already by the end of Philly's first possession. One could argue that Philly had to play on Sunday also, but there's a big difference between finishing Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Sunday afternoon lets the players get home and rest for the night. Sunday evening, no one is getting much rest that night. It may as well have been a Monday game followed by a Thursday game.

The other thing I want to say is that three times our offense was stopped by PI that weren't called, each one of them committed on Dez. Anyone who doesn't think that had nothing to do with the outcome of the game is flat out wrong. I don't think I have ever come on here blaming the refs for any loss. Those muggings that Dez took last night were criminal and the DB's should have been arrested. The 15 yard penalty on Mincey (I think) when Sanchez ducked into his grasp was another bad piece of officiating. The defender was going for the waste and then Sanchez ducked into his arms. The pulling back of Sanchez's head couldn't have been stopped since the guys momentum was going that direction. Also, the penalty on Harris for blocking the punt coverage guy should not have been called. That defender has no right to the ball. He doesn't get a fair catch. One might say it was wreckless and unneeded, but the rules do not forbid him from doing what he did. Bad call.

In the end, it was the three non-calls on those throws to Dez that would have put us within 15 yards of the endzone each time that had a negative impact on the game. They should have been called; they weren't. At the very least, that's nine points off the board. That's all I would claim because we obviously had problems getting into the endzone on that one fumble that put us on the thirteen.

No way was Dez interfered with 3 different times on 3rd down. No way, no how. That first one was 100% pass interference but it seemed like a make up call because on that drive Dallas was given a 1st down that wasnt one.

Ive never seen that in my life. The WR was clearly short. He gets an incredible spot and they bring out the markers and it was clear it wasnt a 1st down. 2 refs hold up 4 fingers indicating 4th down and one motions for a first down. Ive never seen that in my life. I rewound that part and it was clear as day that wasnt a first down???

THere were not 3 blatant pass interferences. Also it doesnt matter id Sanchez ducks, a penalty is a penalty. THen you go on to defend Harris on that dirt bag play. Come on brother. Not only was that a blatant penalty, it will be reinforced when he gets fined this week. Dez was ranting after the game the Eagles cheap shotted him and went on to say, "Someone elbowed me in my hip". Are you kidding me Dez. He was just pissed that McCoy mocked him with the X and "ROC" symbol.

Even after this week Dallas has given up 12 less points this year, so no, it isn't obvious to me...

first one was obvious, the 2nd one he still caught the ball for 38 yards and i remember two others one when he was hit before the ball got there and the other the defender never turned around and jumped up infront of him and made contact there as well.

that is 4 that i remember that were easy calls but were not called. There were plenty of other hand holds on other wrs as well.

This was the LEAST flag throwing refs in the league and the Eagles did exploit that but that didn't effect the overall outcome unless you call the first one a momentum changer.

Our defense was once again nothing but a joke they have gotten away with "looking good" thanks to less time on the field and forcing more field goals

We are always going to give up points like Aikmann said yesterday. But our front 7 is legit and shut down Murray. I cant imagine watching that game and coming to the conclusion that Dallas D is as good as Phillys. Our DLine said it would dominate Dallas's OLine and they did. We get exposed cause our secondary is bad but our front 7 is much betters then what the Cowboys field.

Thats just ridiculous Jarntt. Our D is ALWAYS on the field cause of the way our O plays but FLetcher Cox is a star, Michael Kendricks is a star, Bennie Logan is good, Conner Barwin is a complete stud. Dallas doesnt have these type of players in their front 7. Come on Jarntt.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
