I didn't see 3 PIs against Dez, but saying it was a completion and thus couldn't have been a PI is not necessarily true. It can be both pass interference AND a completion.

I agree Jarntt. However there was one horrible missed call by the refs that did kill a drive. But after that there was NOTHING.

I said these were both bad D's but Phillys was better and I got mocked by PDay. After watching that game it isnt obvious??? We came into the game 2nd in sacks and have been playing well against the run for a while now. The front 7 is playoff ready. The back 4 need to be let go. So it wasnt just one game Jarntt.
Even after this week Dallas has given up 12 less points this year, so no, it isn't obvious to me...
Thats just ridiculous Jarntt. Our D is ALWAYS on the field cause of the way our O plays but FLetcher Cox is a star, Michael Kendricks is a star, Bennie Logan is good, Conner Barwin is a complete stud. Dallas doesnt have these type of players in their front 7. Come on Jarntt.
Philly's defense is not that good and neither is Dallas.' One game doesn't prove you right. We are one week removed from the Packers completely obliterating the Eagles' defense. Say what you want about the Cowboys, but no team has done that(what the Packers did to the Eagles) to this defense this year. Philly's defense has shown to be gutless. The Cowboys haven't. I would take the Cowboys defense slightly over Philly's for that reason. The Cowboys D literally had everything going against them against the Eagles: Fatigue, the offense didn't show up, and giving up 14 points out the gate, they still didn't get obliterated like the Eagles did against the Packers. Last year's defense would have gave up 50+ to the Eagles just like they did against Denver. Dallas' defense despite being severely fatigued, facing the fastest paced offense on 4 days rest after being on the field 70 plays against the Giants, stepped up after the first quarter while the offense did nothing to help them. If that were the Eagles, they probably would have gave up 50 points.
The Cowboys got murdered in that game, but if we are talking about the defenses, the Cowboys showed me a lot even in a bad game. They could have easily gave up after that first quarter but didn't and came up with huge stops after the offense did nothing and committed turnovers. They still rose to the occasion to try to keep the game close. And in the 2nd half only gave up 10 points. The offense had every opportunity to make it a game and they didn't do ****. I don't think the Eagles defense was extraordinary in the game, but they did play well. I just think Romo played like absolute crap. Dez also played like crap. He could hardly get any separation and ran piss-poor routes. He looked like someone that was coming off two back surgeries with those lazy routes. Like I said above, I slightly give the Cowboys the edge defensively because the Cowboys have shown me that they just do not give up defensively and play hard. They show guts. The Packers game showed me how gutless Philly's defense can be and that is something I would worry about long term if I were an Eagles fan. As someone who has seen a lot of gutless defenses, that type of defense lets you down when it matters most.

Jarntt wrote:I know you guys disagreed with me last week, but this is exactly how I thought Romo played last week. It just happened to be that there were a lot of open receivers last week and it didn't matter that he was off as much. He still has no zip on the ball, under throws most deep passes and that half step he has been giving the defense can often be the difference between a completion and a pass that is broken up. I'll say it again...does he understand that throwing the ball away in the red zone is the smart play that every other QB knows? Instead of us being able to go for it on 4th and short he takes a sack. Sail the damn ball out of the end zone.
I remember you posting something to this effect last week and I agree. I'm very concerned about Romo's back and over all health. He's more hurt than what has been reported. He just hasn't looked good at allnowfor3 weeks and his throws have no zip what so ever.

Re: Can't believe how bad we played
Despite being flat coming off a late Sunday night game, I thought we were also out schemed and out coached for the most part. I have not liked out play calling on offense the past few weeks either. Too much forcing the run and forcing to Dez. Time to spread the ball around some. Like to see more balls going to Williams and Beasley. Someone earlier in the week posted and suggested setting up the run with the passing game. I would love to see more of that.

Malko,
So, that's at least two PI's that you agree were not called - the one Dez made the catch on and the one that killed a drive. Now, be careful here, because I initially said there were three PI's that were not called and you said there were none. You twisted my words to say they were grabbing Dez all night, which I never said, and then proceeded to debunk that mythological statement by referring to the stats of Dez having six catches on eight passes. Now, you are admitting at least two, after having watched it all again. Are you sure you didn't miss one more? Isn't it possible, being that you have gone from "none" to "two," that it is possible that there is a third, in which case I would have been right all along. And even if you don't agree to a third, I was still much closer than you saying there were none.
But you will keep on twisting and distorting to make it seem like you were right all along and that this is just Dallas fans being unable to admit they are wrong. Like I said, it's your M.O.
The problem with your style, Malko, is that you read into words what isn't there and then restate things in a way that justifies you being upset. It's why you are so irritated at PDay. It's why you are irritated at Manster. It's why you were irritated at jarnnt. It's why you were irritated at me for saying I like Dallas' chances better at GB than I like Philly's chances at Seattle, San Fran, and Detroit. You read into my words what I didn't say and then took issue with your own fabrication of what I said.
Sometimes, if you would just calm down and read what's actually there and then reread it before you reply all this drama could be avoided.

Re: Can't believe how bad we played
By rule,
In American and Canadian gridiron football, pass interference (PI) is a foul that occurs when a player interferes with an eligible receiver's ability to make a fair attempt to catch a forward pass. Pass interference may include tripping, pushing, pulling, or ........cutting in front of the receiver........, covering the receiver's face, or pulling on the receiver's hands or arms. It does not include catching or batting the ball before it reaches the receiver. Once the ball touches any defensive player or eligible offensive receiver the above rules no longer apply and the defender may tackle the receiver or attempt to prevent him from gaining control of the ball.
the cutting in front the WR applied when the defender never located or turned for the ball which is REQUIRED for a defender in this instance. The 3rd interference that you are denying took place when Dez was in Double coverage with one man under and one man over and the defender in front jumped and threw his hands up in reaction to Dez's movement for the ball. By rule he has to make a play on the ball not the WR that is PI.

No, theres one pass interference in the 1st quarter. Thats it. I never said two. I said the one in the 1st quarter that killed the drive. Thats not two seperate times. So I didnt read into anything and I didnt twist anything. THere was ONE pass interference. Thats it.

Youre lying to yourself if you think Dallas has a better D. THey have no one as good as Fletcher Cox, no one as good as Conner Barwin, No one as good as Mychael Kendricks. I doubt anyone as good as Bennie Logan. Philly is 2nd in the NFL in sacks cause of there front 7. YOure lying to yourself if you think Dallas has a better D. Like I said. Want to take this to a non Cowboy forum and see what the country thinks.

No one cut in front of him and that wasnt even Dez on that play. Williams was double covered. THe ball was thrown short and hit our CB in the back of the head. He was NEVER touched so it wasnt pass interference. Nice try though.

Re: Can't believe how bad we played
And again theres NO drama. Im saying Dez wasnt pass interfered with 3 times and 5 of you are saying the refs cheated for the Eagles and he was pass interfered with. THen theres a couple saying Dallas has a better D then Philly. All simply not true. As much as I defend that a bunch of you come back and argue your sides. So I cant be the one labeled as starting the drama. DOnt make up crap like Dez was PI with three times. And I have no issue with Jarntt. He even agrees that Dez wasnt pass interfered with so go attack him too. DEAL?

Individual players don't make a defense. Unity and effort make a defense. You can have your talent. I'll take the guys with guts and heart. All Philly has is a bunch of loudmouth trash talkers. The Cowboys are better coached and won't fold down the stretch like gutless defenses like the Eagles do.

Hahaha. POST OF THE YEAR FELLAS. POST OF THE FREAKING YEAR!!
So now all the Eagles are is a bunch of loud mouth trash talkers. I dont think the Eagles crappy D has the luxury of being loud mouth trash talkers nor have I seen it. Can I put this prediction right next to your prediction on how the Eagles season is over with Sanchez at QB? I just want to give you COMPLETE credit for both.

BY RULE that is PI he has to TURN AND MAKE A PLAY ON THE BALL he is not allowed to blindly jump and block the pass.
No one is saying the refs cheated the Boys. The eagles did exploit the knowledge that these refs were the least flag throwing crew in the league as pointed out in the beginning of the game. Dallas should have done the same but they don't play the WRs right and never have under Big Red.
We got our ass beat without the refs no one is fighting that..... You are drawing conclusions and piecing **** together... Stop acting so arrogant yes the Eagles won congrats the majority of us expected it.
I had conversations at work with eagle fans (i live in pa) and we all agreed that the game was going to be a blow out one way or the other but none of us knew which way it would go because of how Jekyll and Hyde both teams are.

Re: Can't believe how bad we played
Im not acting arrogant Pools. How is it arrogant of me saying, "The Eagles D is bad but slightly better the the Dallas D". How is it arrogant of me in saying, "The Eagles didnt pass interfere 3 times". Manster came on here saying we took a page from the Seahawks and pass interfered all game. I know you guys are bummed that you lost to the hated Eagles but not once did I come on here talking crap. Not once did I say the Eagles were great. The only thing I said about the Eagles future is "THE EAGLES ARE NOT CONTENDERS". I wouldnt be shocked one iota if Dallas won the next game in 2 weeks. Want to know why? Because the Eagles D is horrible and teams with nice passing games shred us week after week after week. I said before the game and after the game that these two teams are very similar. Both have good O's and both dont have Defenses that are capable of going deep into the playoffs.
You cant find one post of me saying how great the Eagles are. Im taking a beating cause I said the Eagles have a slightly better D and that the Eagles didnt pass interfere all game and Im getting treated like Im Jeffrey Dahmer for sticking to those 2 points.

Sure. I dont have a problem with that either. But look at his freaking post. He lost all common sense just cause he hates the Eagles. You have to admit that this was one HORRIFICALLY bad post from Earl.

No team has done that to the Cowboys this year? Its funny how you can remember the Eagles getting waxed a few weeks ago but cant even remember last Thursday and what happened to the Cowboys D. Eagles had 300 yards of O at half time dude. Do you remember Aikmann saying, "The Eagles O is putting on a clinic today"
Now dont go getting all ridiculous cause Im not saying the Eagles are great. But they absolutely SHREDDED the Cowboys D Earl. SHREDDED!

Re: Can't believe how bad we played
Ironcially the play that Dez caught & you guys are talking about isn't the one I am talking about LOL
One I saw the defender already had hold of Dez before he caught the ball & I wanted to be pissed that no PI was called but Dez caught it so.....
I don't think that is why we lost. It fdoes get tiring though through out the season how touchy refs will get on our DBs & let other teams get away with much worse.
but back to my original issue. (sorry if I high jack your thread malko but already heard everything everyone has to say on this subject) I just watched Adams (WR) of the packers shove the defender straight off the screen to catch a pass on the break. Guess what. No call was made. I think we need a lot more offensive PIs instead of getting nitpicky on the defenders having a hand on a receiver. No matter what the refs got to get more consistent on what a foul is or isn't.
