What do you guys think of Baalke?

Since it appears he's won the power struggle with Harbaugh, he will pick the coach and will be responsible for restocking the roster. In particular how do you think his strategy of taking injured players has turned out and what are his strengths and weaknesses in drafting?

He takes his guy in draft no matter if it's considered a reach like ward. He is really good in later rounds especially good at find lb'ers. donate johnson looks like a really good pick as well. I was fine with his acl club when we had extra picks 2015 will be different story without a stock pile I think. Let's hope he can find the right coach because If we got back to life pre Harbaugh I don't think I will make it out alive. Let's also hope He gets help evaluating wr's too.

Overall I'm pleased with his job performance.

I mean it's not perfect by any means but look at the 31 other teams and none of them have a perfect team either.

I like the fact the salary cap has been well managed and for the most part he does a great job at managing the draft. I mean under his tenure I can't recall ever thinking we got screwed in that deal or trade.

He's definitely better at drafting the defensive side of the ball over the offensive and he just doesn't have an eye for the WR position as that has been a sore spot under his tenure.

Seems like he has a good feel for the secondary and linebacker position and the offensive lineman he's drafted have been performing in relation to their draft status mostly.

I really like the strategy of taking injured players. If you want to maintain sustained success in the NFL you have to take some chances on guys when it comes to the draft and taking talented guys that drop due to injury is just one of those risks you take.

Lattimore didn't pay off but I feel Tank will eventually and Brandon Thomas could wind up being an excellent OG who might've went in the 1st round but we got with a 3rd round comp pick.

And even though it wasn't an injury Aaron Lynch looks to be an absolute steal in the 5th round and that's because we took a chance on him.

Baalke was always going to win over Harbaugh because the 9ers knew that a GM you can keep around for years and years but Harbaugh was never likely never going to be a 10 year coach with the 9ers.

Overall, I am pleased with Baalke. He took over after Scot McCloughan was fired in March 2010 and has been drafting players for us since. His 2010 included Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, Navorro Bowman, and Anthony Dixon. That is a very good crop of players right there - Bowman is an All Pro and Davis when healthy is one of the best RTs in football. Iupati has also been an All Pro...His 2011 was just awsome, Aldon Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Chris Culliver, Kendall Hunter, Daniel Kilgore, and Bruce Miller...His 2012 was not very good - Joe Looney I think could be a solid backup at G though, possibly more...His 2013 with the exception of Eric Reid has been slow to develop, but we see this season that starting to happen. I really like Dial, Tank is more PT, I like Patton, and I am still very hopeful that Vance McDonald will be a good TE. As for his 2014 class, it has looked phenominal.
