I Don't Get it....

You look at some of these players around the league who aren't that good, but they put up better numbers than our best players. I mean, we usually aren't throwing that much, but you never see Kaep approach 300 yards, then you see some scrub like fitzpatrick do it all the time. Seems like this year nobody has really broken out in any game offensively. I know it is a combination, but what do you guys think is the bigger problem.... Oline, Kaep, or Roman?

All three. Oline can't pass block kaep can't see open guy Roman thinks we can switch from week to week from passing team to running team. We need an identity and that's a running team then get all 8 in box go play action. Bruce miller needs more snaps than Brandon Lloyd.

Another thing that pisses me off is when we go jumbo package on 3rd and 1. Seriously I'd love to know how many times we've converted 3rd and 2 or less can't be pretty. Remember when they got creative out of that jumbo package? No it's run and run only. We use to send the extra olinemen in motion and forced some off sides as well. Why do we send Lloyd out sometimes as our only wr? That's kinda obvious what that play will be right? And coaching staff doesn't like screens ha how many big plays you see every week come off a screen? This team lacks any creativity I don't know why maybe its to hard for our players to understand?

I don't see a big play talent in the offense, but I think the talent level is greater than what we see every week. I also think that they get a little too cute in the draft.

Remember Staley catching those passes downfield? Roman has a lot of variations on the same plays, but it isn't fooling anybody. It was neat back in 11' but at this point it isn't cutting it. And the screen passes just pisses me off. We probably try 4 a season. Insane. Completely agree with that and the lack of identity. It's like they built a power run team so they can try and be a pass happy offense.

I think it's a combination, from everything I've read and seen, kaepernick has improved, but not enough, and he's still not accurate, Roman can't seem to decide what the offensive philosophy is from week to week and doesn't seem to make adjustments in games, the players like vd and the oline abd Crabtree aren't having good years, and baalke has not drafted skill position offensive players very well. Despite that whole diatribe we still have an outside shot of making the playoffs, but unless some of those things improve it will all be pointless.

The reason why our pass block looks terrible and run block looks great is because we have great RB's and a terrible QB.

The reason the offense sucks is it is too predictable. If the defense shows run the nines check to a pass play. The defense shows run but are really in pass defense.

Also, 9ers think that they are tricky running in pass situations and vice versa. Defenses known that now and plan on it.

Yes, that is the "cat and mouse for dummies" that's been happening. The defense knows we have two plays called - typically a run and a pass. Play depends on how many is in the box. You see variations of them jamming the box full of 8 knowing that the run will be switched to a pass (or vice versa). Play is changed. Defense pretty much knows if its a run or pass.

Here's my gripe: the system (or Kap's limitations) seems to limit the ability to counter this by calling any sort of hot read off of it. So defense shows run. Play is switched to a pass. Defense adjusts knowing that pass is probably coming. Wouldn't it be easy to switch this play back subtly smoothly and quickly one more time? It's not happening.

For instance get the defense keyed on a run. Hurt them with a hot read. I don't think the system allows for this basic tactic, or it takes two minutes to get to. Instead of a quick hand signal to a WR he's been going crazy and yelling 'Crabtree I really want to throw you the ball right now but I don't know how to switch the play. Run in a straight line and then cut to the right.'

That's seems to be a major reason why nobody's on the same page and why the pass blocking has been breakding down so bad. Defenses are just pouncing on this. 1 out of 10 times we get a big play. No consistency. No momentum.

They can't change plays twice at the line of scrimmage due to the length of time they spend getting then calling 3 plays in the huddle. It is why they waste so many timeouts already.

So we have an over-simplistic offense that creates confusion for everyone on our side of the ball.
