Can't believe how bad we played

Schmoop, I just dont know why the NFL has to portray refs as these venerable old wise men. THese are all older guys and I dont understand why the NFL cant put some younger refs out on the field.

Malko, in the heat of your arguments you keep rattling off how you have 4 or 5 players better than anyone on our team and how everyone in the Country thinks our defense stinks and how no one will say that Dallas has a better defense and didn't we watch the game and see how the teams looked and how your DC is talked about as a HC candidate. Then you go back and summarize your views to show you are being reasonable and keep saying that the Philly D is SLIGHTLY better than the Dallas D. Which is it? I'll assume it's the Slightly one since you have made a point 2 or 3 times to say it...so I have to say that unless I don't understand the meaning of the word Slightly, this means that you think the defenses are in fact pretty close, correct?

So then, if you yourself think that the defenses are pretty close, why such an uproar If someone sees it SLIGHTLY different than you and feels the Dallas D is a little better? Especially a Dallas fan on a Dallas board.

Personally I've learned a long time ago that nothing is as good or as bad as it seems in Sports and things change from week to week. I did find the comment about how the Philly D looked just two weeks before interesting though. That was, as I'm sure you will admit, a pretty putrid performance. I'm not saying we would look any good against GB, but I don't think we'd give up 53 points...but who knows

Individual players don't make a defense. Unity and effort make a defense. You can have your talent. I'll take the guys with guts and heart. All Philly has is a bunch of loudmouth trash talkers. The Cowboys are better coached and won't fold down the stretch like gutless defenses like the Eagles do.

Can I put this prediction right next to your prediction on how the Eagles season is over with Sanchez at QB? I just want to give you COMPLETE credit for both.

Jarntt, nice post and I see what youre saying. The 3 or 4 guys I listed are all in the front 7. THats why I think Philly has a better D. Dallas doesnt have a very good secondary but its better then Phillys. You guys dont have players like Allen Hurns putting up multiple TDs against you. Phillys D got shredded in GB but one thing you do have to remember is the D didnt give up 28 points. There were 3 TDs and a Punt Return scored against the Eagles but not the D. But, Rodgers could have scored at will that day. Heres the issue. Even though the Eagles have a good front 7, as a unit the secondary is so inept that it makes them bad over all. Rodgers was getting rid of the ball so quickly and so accurately it made the front 7 invisible. Hence, the Eagles arent contenders because they can not stop teams like GB, NE, Denver and might lose in the rematch vs. Dallas because Dez can take over by himself. We have no one even close to being able to stop him.

So does that mean that even though we all know the Dallas D is incredibly flawed, that it is possible for a random Cowboy fan to feel that the Dallas D is maybe a drop better and not be a complete nimrod?

Well, I wouldnt say nimrod... but maybe "homerific". I know you know football. I know you also know the Eagles have more quality players on their D then the Cowboys do. Everyone on this board knows that. Its just strange Jarntt. If one is honest on here, they get ripped for "kissing up". Doesnt matter if its anti Cowboy or positive Cowboy... I get ripped either way.

But and this is a big but, I get treated with more respect here then a Cowboy fan would on an Eagles board. That Ill admit!
