Re: Orlando Magic (7-12) @ Golden State Warriors (14-2)
Great game by our young guys! Great effort and the outcome could have been different if we focused on some details. Tobias should have crowded Curry, no doubt about it, he had 2 other players backing him up and you just knew Curry was going for the win. Too bad because he played a very good game other than that one moment. EP will review his missed layup at the end and Fournier with the 1-4 fastbreak 3pointer.. Stuff like that is going to kill you.
Now i'm really curious how they bounce back against the Clippers.

every game winning opportunity he just kept saying TOBIAS this whole year like he cant be **** to draw a play for anybody else.. that is terrible coaching.
and this is coming from somebody that wanted tobias to get game winning shots up since JV was similarly stuck on afflalo or jameer being the only two options for a game winner last year.
if our fans know where its going, im pretty sure the other team can gameplan around where he wants the ball to end up.
hence most of our game winning attempts being turnovers or tough fadeaways
I need to watch th replay again, but what I don't understand was why Tobias was all the way on the opposite side of the court from where the ball was being inbounded/ Was there supposed to be a screen at the top of the 3, so Tobias could cut to the inbounder?

no idea man.. like i said if we only had ONE play thats pathetic.. unless the warriors stopped our second and third option as well.. i honestly think it was going to tobias no matter what

no second option? no oladipo who **** had 10-14 fg and 27 points? just a terrible inbounds to the ONLY player you drew it up for?
cmon, man. coulda been a huge game for JV support too.
Most of our inbounds plays in the JV era seem to be a bunch of guys not even looking at the ball or pretending like they are options for the pass, and one guy at the last second desperately trying to get open.

Game had nothing to do with Vic Oladipo's "rudeness." That's just silly.
JV lost the game with poor coaching. In the Time-out before the Curry 3 ball
He should've been stressing foul Klay or Steph on the floor and never give up the three.
That is basic high school coaching. The inbounds play was worse then a high school level play.
I have never seen a play with one singular option and no clean break for option 2 or 3.
I didn't expect to win the game due to the quality roster GSW has,
particularly if it went to crunch time. The little things evade JV and that is a bad thing.
Great overall team performance with the exception of Willie Green.
I expect the Magic to come out and get blown out tonight. Last night was their's for the taking.
They gave it their all on D chasing curry and Klay around. I don't see them having any legs now.

Re: Orlando Magic (7-12) @ Golden State Warriors (14-2)
Stayed up late to watch this one. Was going to go to bed early in the 3rd if it got out of hand but we made our run and should've won the game.
Gotta hand it to the Warriors though, they are by far the hottest team in the league and their entire team thrives off of energy. They make a shot and they all just get amped and start draining shots. The only thing that ends their streaks are the end of quarters.
I think Payton made a good play. I think by the end of the year he's probably making that layup more often than not. I don't really think too poorly of Harris' defense at the end. He was guarding a much quicker player, and when you're backing up like that on a fast break your first thought is "just stay in front of him", and when a player makes that juke towards the basket, it's pretty much instinct for a bigger player to try and slide to cut it off. Very few players wouldn't have fallen for that stutter step. And quite honestly even if he hadn't, Curry doesn't need any space to really get his shot off.
Vaughn is a terrible coach, plain and simple. He got lucky tonight that Gordon hit some shots and Green stopped taking them in the second half. But his rotations are beyond incomprehensible. We finally get a lead due to Oladipo's great play, and he immediately benches him. For significant times I feel like the lineup was Payton, Gordon, Green, Harris, and Frye (or maybe it was O'Quinn). Who exactly besides Harris is supposed to provide offense in that scenario? And Harris doesn't do as well against faster players like GS has. We got lucky with Gordon hitting big shots, as well as Payton finding that seem and being able to dump it to O'Quinn constantly. But most nights that lineup results in the other team going on a 10-0 run (you know, like they did at the end of the first half).

Thank you, glad somebody else somewhat noticed. He was probably showing up Oladipo more than the Magic in general...for what Oladipo solely did. I mean, Oladipo hooted and hollered LOUD and EXCESSIVELY on a heart stabbing moment for the Warriors. I can't see how the Warriors would not take exception to him doing that and send the same feeling back tenfold.
Who was it on the 76ers who wooted and hollered prompting Tobias' game winning dance?
So Steph Curry just coincidently yelled "WHOOO" 5 times in a row just like Oladipo did? He couldn't choose any form of celebration for his stunning game winner other than doing the same EXACT thing Oladipo so rudely did?
Again, rewatch and then tell me if you dont think what Oladipo did was rude. Players take exception to that.
Oh and by the way, i'm not saying this why we lost. I'm just saying that once I saw Oladipo celebrate like that, I had a feeling we would lose at that point. Because sports Karma is mean like that.
Don't sweat it, I understand what you're saying. Most people here are either extremely stupid, or intentionally try to bring another person down. The fact that Oladipo celebrated a little early, and right in front of the Warriors' bench led to some GSW players playing with a little more intensity. That intensity may have been the difference maker, and it's not too far fetched of an idea.
Thta said though, basketball all comes down to who executes the best. Defensively, we crumbled in the closing seconds of the game. Shame, but I hope our guys learn from it.

Re: Orlando Magic (7-12) @ Golden State Warriors (14-2)
Oh, and yea Vaughn's play calling at the end was terrible. O'Quinn should've bailed out to Victor after Harris couldn't get open.
And Victor's chest thumping had nothing to do with GS's streak. That team will go off at a moment's notice regardless (edit: that's not to say Curry didn't thump his chest and shot WHOOO intentionally because of him).

Maybe they just defended it really well?
Nah. KOQ looked at only Harris the last 3 sec before he passed it. If they defended it well, then it's JV's fault.
Yeah, I re-watched the play this am and it's clearly a broken play that KO still tried to make happen. Credit to GSW and shame on our players for not better executing.

I woudnt even care If Dipo took a dump in the middle of basketball court if hes gonna put such numbers like this game.
what I care about is winning and we lost it again thanks to our coach not Dipo
and I wont stand another Willie Green 1/10 shooting night.
If he was a gr8 defender I would say ok y keep him there but he is doing nothing...
cant hit an open shoot
cant defend
one thing he does is to force one one one and brick/airball it
srsly cant watch it anymore
he is a WNBA player and barely

Re: Orlando Magic (7-12) @ Golden State Warriors (14-2)
I just watched the final 4 minutes of the game. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry hit tough shots to tie the game.
I haven't seen the Oladipo celebration thing, but I'd not advise anyone on doing any kind of scene to provoke one of the best teams and player of the league.
Oladipo is not that kind of guy, he certainly got carried away, but that's just the kinf of thing that fires up the opponent. And we don't want Curry fired up, do we?
Anyway, I don't think that's what cost the Magic the win. What about the final play? You can't finish a close game like this without shooting the ball in the last posesion. They executed poorly. Props to JV. =/

BTW - the argument could also be made that Oladipo's chest thumping fired up our own players.

You guys act like Oladipo looked at the Warriors bench and was like "**** y'all". What he did was nothing and happens in the NBA every single night and damn near every single game and even multiple times a game. I don't even know what to say anymore.

There was no movement other than Tobias trying to get loose. JV had no inbounds play other than that which is no players fault. The inability to draw up something as routine as an inbound play is a fail in his part.SOUL wrote:MellowRose wrote:SOUL wrote:JV just bothers me as a coach - he does a lot of things i actually like but then he'll just mess it up in one stupid decision that no other coach really seems to do.

I thought it was a great game from our guys. They calmly fought through adversity when GS went up and gave themselves a chance to win without arguably our best player. To me it shows that the team is progressing nicely.

Right. That, happens all the time. What, some of you worried he "disrespected" them? I wish he looked at the bench and said "**** y'all."
