So we are in the second tier with Sac, Den and NO, and they all, except for Denver have legit big time players....big guy players which make the most impact unless you have a guy like we did with KJ or Nash who just seemed to elevate everyone else in a big way can make a huge difference. I love Dragic and Bledsoe, and honestly I really like everyone on this team....
...But this year he got another pg and had to play him....I'm not sure who advocated for this but I HOPE it was McD for trade value.
The simple answer is we don't need him. The team struggled without him for a few games but that is expected as they had gotten used to having to defer to him on the floor.
Plus, the top 11 teams in the West have a PF/PA differential of 0 or higher...the East? 5. If we were in the East, we'd be the 5th seed right now. The league would never do it, but it would be awesome if they allowed the 16 best teams, regardless of conference, into the Playoffs, that would put us as the 12th seed. We are just unlucky to be in the dominant conference at this point. It won't always be that way, though, it's just frustrating because we are not as we used to be...a solid perennial 5 seed or higher.
As far as IT, my guess is they keep him until Dragic is signed, or he is traded for a solid 2, or Ennis proves to be a dependable backup PG. Until then, he's here for awhile. If we traded him at the deadline and Bledsoe went down the next game, we would be left with Dragic and Ennis only...not good.
Overall, though, I still would not trade any of our top 10 talented players (EB, IT, Gogi, the Morri, Len, Green, Tucker, Warren, and Goodwin). I also wouldn't Ennis or Plumlee unless it was for a more established PG for Ennis, or a better talent at the 5.
