He said that "now they have to get ready to play the best team in the East, and that is the Toronto Raptors."

Why would we want that? We want separation from the rest of the playoff teams.

If they lost they would be more motivated tomorrow. You could look it at it either way though. That was my justification for the outcome of the game. Was rooting for NY.

Raps should try to emulate Warriors offense.

Pelicans aren't even trying to involve Anthony Davis. Horrible game management.

No, Warriors should emulate ours. Do you Raptors have #1 most effective offense? We score 8 more points per 100 possessions. The gap between our offense effectiveness and Warriors is the same as Warriors #9 offense and the #28 ranked Magic.

Damn I retract my statement (somewhat).

Do you know if that effectiveness is moreso due to offensive sets generating high percentage scoring chances, or due to player talent/team depth? I'd be willing to bet it's the latter.

I disagree. I'd say the Warriors are more talented top to bottom. Raps just have the perfect system for their players.

Quality of opponents too.

Sustainability in a playoff situation when you're heavily scouted.

These things matter and would factor into the discussion.

Its easy to see why the Pelicans are so bad. They are not using AD correctly, the guy should be the main focal point on offence, like Bosh when he played for us.

The guy is a beast, if we had him, we would be championship contenders.

Only reason why the Warriors don't score more than the Raptors is because of their turnovers which is a result of their over passing. Otherwise their offense would've been much better than the Raptors.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Pelicans' bench sucks. And their wings suck as well especially their SG. Jeez I feel bad for Davis.

Don't have the stats but we are effective because 1) we get to the line at high rate and convert at high clip 2) we rarely turn over the ball 3) we shoot well from the floor. That is deadly combo.

I think the primary reason for this is because the strength of our guards. We have Lowry/DD/Vaz/Lou + JJ who can also create off the bounce. Most teams are lucky to have 2 capable guards + 1 backup. Then you add JV/Amir who are very efficient with low usage, you get very effective offense.

Do you know we have had tougher schedule than Warriors? Hollinger Warriors with 23rd toughest schedule (vs ours 17).

I agree with you we won't keep this high pace, but I would bet Warriors are more easily scouted than us. They basically rely on Curry + Klay occasionally get in the act. It is very difficult to stop the Raptors offense. When you have balanced attack (any night DD/Lowry/Vaz/Lou + JJ) can go for 20 easy.
