huge win

Post#1 » by Romotodez » Fri Dec 5, 2014 5:19 am

I was so worried about this game. It got extremely sloppy at the end but damn the defense was ready to go early. Gave up some big plays , yes but tackled well all night. McClain really makes a huge difference in there.Actually thought Carr played fairly well too. Biggest thing- no pass rush.. Offensively, Murray was outstanding. Romo did just enough. Hopefully the time off wil help. I could tell in the post game he was upset about getting 83 the ball. Diappointing to see Dez do what he did at the end. 41 points though . wow. Happy

The pass rush is why my expectations have been tempered. I really like this team. I really do. They play the game the right way. They run the football to set up the pass. They play hard defensively and are pretty good at tackling. But the elephant in the room is the pass rush. No consistent pass rush could end up being our downfall. You can't expect to beat the Eagles fast paced offense, and you can't expect to win in GB or New Orleans in the playoffs with zero pass rush. It would take a Baltimorean-like effort in order to make the playoffs and go far in it. Meaning an average defensive team that suddenly becomes a juggernaut overnight like Baltimore did two years ago. I would gladly take the way the defense played in Seattle in the playoffs.

He said it on NFL network but I thought he was talking about the past. Romo is playing with a broken rib as well. Damn.

If you are going to be disappointed at Dez, be disappointed at Scandrick as well. You have to be fair. And where was the complaining when Witten was ranting on the sidelines a few weeks ago?

Now I'm reading he doesn't have a broken rib. Who knows? He said in his press conference to the media that he will be glad when it's just his back that is causing trouble??? Whether that just means the disc or not I don't know?

I took his talking about a broken rib as things you must over come in the NFL not that he currently has one.

I Never knew what Wit was mad about. Dez during the NO game did the same thing. When asked about it- he said I wanted a piece of the cake too. Tonight I think the one drive was to get Dez a TD. Murray lost 14 on the the first play. Romo throws the second ball away. 3rd down and 24 they did the smart thing and ran it to set Bailey up. Whether he was mad at Romo for not throwing him the ball on 2 nd down , I don't know but it looked more toward the coaches. The second time, I was pissed too. 3rd and 4 and we run MUrray to take a 13 point lead. I thought he should have got a chance there. Scandrick, on the other hand, was more than likely pissed at the soft coverage they were playing. They balled out for 3 quarters and then give up 3 TDs. I'm just speculating. I'm not mad at Dez. That's who he is. I just know that will get some air time between now and next week.

I look at this way. Dez is doubled for the most part of the game. He is told over and over how running the ball will help him out more. Sure enough it gets to the 4rth and we have a huge lead so the opponent plays the run and leaves him singled up. He thinks it's his time then. If that is his thinking I'm Ok with that.

Everyone wants to score but with that lead it's wise to simply run to kill clock. I saw a lot of single coverage on Dez in the 4th and it looked like easy plays if we wanted them but all it would take is one hit on Romo to end the season. Dez has to learn this. Maybe he saw a way to help his contract talks out. Then again maybe Red didn't look his way near the end zone to hurt his contract talks.

Without actually hearing his rant I'm not going to blindly bash him. The announcers had it all figured out even before he had left the field after the 3rd down play.

Or maybe Dez was saying something completely different just like last year against the Lions.

Exactly. Without the audio we don't know what his message was. Funny how the announcers knew what the rant was before he even got off of the field. Then you got guys taking that info as gospel.

LOL

I don't know what you folks expected this season (well, actually I do from all the August posts) , but I'm happy as heck with 9 wins and 3 still to play

They played hard last night. All you have to Do is watch Church on the blocked extra point. It was 35 to 13. That point wasn't going to make a big difference, but damn he went after it. Loved it. The defense played a lot better than the numbers show.

this defense is lacking talent but not effort.

This is why I say with a solid defensive draft this team can be a true contender. I don't see us making it through the NFC playoffs this year with this D. Not saying it's impossible but I will say improbable.

Rumor has Marinelli in Tampa next year. Let's hope Jerry offers enough $'s to make him forget who his best friend is...

I know we don't like talking about next season but who would be some top names on the list if we lost Rod? Eberflus?
