can you imagine if we signed two out of the three and traded Haren to Angels for some anti-inflammatory?

we could potentially rock Kershaw-Greinke-Lester-Scherzer-Ryu.

any team that can afford the 22d best starting pitcher as your 5th starter, can rest easy all the way to the WS.

Explain "22nd best starting pitcher," without engaging in an endless spiral of metrics.

no team with kershaw and scherzer would cruise to ws, they would just better their record as the most expensive postseason failures.

The Mariners may be interested in Carlos Gonzalez.

I don't know what to make of Didi Gregorius. He doesn't seem like he adds anything to a baseball team. What am I missing?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. He has no bat to speak of and his defense is pretty average.

I mean, anything is an improvement over what Jeet had over the last five years, but this deal just doesn't seem very good.

Plus, I really liked Shane Greene.

And now the Yanks go and give Andrew Miller a 4yr/36mil deal. Which isn't half bad, which all but guarantees Dave Robertson isn't coming back.

considering Miller's long sheet of injury history, giving up a 4 year deal over Robertson may not prove to be a wise investment, but time will tell. Miller has not been a reliever for very long, so who knows.

for every baseball team's front office, it's very basic, nothing convoluted as you describe.

Anyone can delete their own posts...

I think Miller for 9 per is pretty good, considering what I expected him to get.

Curious to see how much Robertson gets, especially with losing a DP attached to him.

look, if you are poorly educated and your highest level of math you took was geometry or algebra 2, it's okay to admit that you don't get the advanced metrics. but, simply because you don't get it, it does not make it right for you to dismiss it like religious freaks who think the earth is 7000 years old. advanced stat deniers are exactly like the evolution deniers, global warming deniers, and Copernicus deniers.
you can burn Giodano Bruno at the stake, but that didn't change the fact that the earth goes around the sun.

Compared to Miller Craig seems like a discount.
