I was wrong about that, too.

They are better now than they were last season. This team has a lot of unselfish, mature, good workers. Focused guys who don't complain about shots or minutes. (Lest one banished to D-League.)

Proceeding without Ariza turns out to be a right move.

Gortat is worth the contract at least the next three years. Porter with the Batum production curve is going to be a solid player. He is coming along SLOWLY, which is actually good. Otto has the luxury of being around mentors like Pierce, Webster, Butler, and Temple. Each of those guys are exemplars. ALL OF THEM CAN PLAY SF.

Credit to EG under Ted. The past three years I haven't liked his approach much; BUT the proof is in the pudding.
