Hawks recalled Phillip Danaoult from Rockford. Sharp put on long term disabled list so it helps the cap.

I hear Clendenning played pretty well in his first game? I didn't see the game, just heard good things.

Clendening down Dahlbeck up

Not sure why all of the quick shuffling... Johns up for practice, Danault, etc.... But I have sixth sense that a trade is being dangled.... Thoughts? Stephen johns and Phillip Danault for a legit 3rd line veteran Dman age 26-27 I'd guess... A guy in that 25-30pt range

You could be right that a trade is coming, but personally I'd like to see Johns develop into a future player for us. I'm not sure about Danault, as he seems to be a third or fourth line grinder type, and we already have some youngish guys there in Shaw, Kruger, Smith, etc.

Yea in my big review I already knew all about johns and Danault and both screamed 4th line at best in our system... They have value, better to capitalize now before they go through 20-30 games at the NHL level with a 2-5 pt posting in that time driving down their value

Why did Clendening not stick! A lil weird IMO... He is good already

It's been great to have that depth of being able to go 3 deep in goal and not have a big drop-off in performance. I knew Crawford could be really good, and Raanta has always been very highly spoken about, but Darling has been the surprise for me this season. I'd never really heard of him before this season started, and now he's coming up to the NHL level, beating out Raanta for starts and almost ending up getting Raanta sent back to Rockford when Crawford returns. My big question is where does Darling fit in the long term? Crawford is signed for quite a bit longer, and it seems that the club really want to keep Raanta around, so what do we do with Darling? We can't just waste his talent in the AHL. My guess is that he gets traded while his value is so high, or possibly Raanta gets moved, but I think that's unlikely. What do you guys think we will do with this log-jam in goal?

I'm really going to miss Antti Raanta. Kid's a goofball and a solid goalie.

And hey, the Rangers finally get a likable player.

Thanks for posting that, mole. It could have gone in either this thread or the Blackhawks off-season thread. What do you make of some of the new faces on that list?

Yeah, good f'n riddance. Daley was garbage. Not that Scuderi at 36 is great, but at least he knows how to play and help defend a lead (when the Hawks get one).

I've heard similar reports. Daley seemed to forget that defense was actually his main job, meanwhile Scuderi doesn't bring that same offensive ability but is much more sound defensively and more reliable.

Still, do you guys see us using him much? Or does he spend time in Rockford and we bring up a young guy like Gustafson or Svedberg?

Also, the Hawks just announced that Kruger has undergone successful surgery to repair his wrist. He's expected to resume hockey activities in 4 months, so this is going to hurt us on the PK and shutdown line.

I think we see him unless he's totally done. I think part of the reason he was sent here was to chase one more Cup. Obviously, if he stinks, he'll be scratched. But if he has a pulse, he's an upgrade over Daley, who totally took the low road after being moved saying he didn't get a "fair shot" with the Hawks, which is pure garbage. He's just not very good and when you're on a good team, you'll be exposed when you suck.

Horrible news to wake up to. I don't think the average fan gets what Kruger brings to the roster. And it's "4 months" expected is what Q said. Hopefully, he has the Duncan Keith Wolverine healing gene. He's going to be missed a lot I fear. I hope I'm wrong and he's back for the playoff push. But this would put him back on the active roster at the mid-end of April if it's the full 4 months.
