I'm sure Draymond Christ, our savior, is going to forgive you for doubting him. Don't worry! Anyway, props to you for making such a post, we all are wrong sometimes.

Might as well bring up the Love Trade thread too, cause Dray > Love.

After attending the LV Summer League one year I declared on this forum that Lou Amundson was a future All-Star. Although I was drinking heavily at those games. They were selling this slrzy pink cocktail in a plastic sports cup, iirc. You can always resort to that defense.

Haha the classic defense. Trust me though Lou Amundson is tame. However I did get started on the Eggnog a little early :D

I was thinking as I watched Draymond being interviewed that he may very well be a coach one day. Good mind and a wonderful grasp of the game.

Just want to say this in my defense....I was wrong about the shooting (clearly) but with that said I was right in some aspects....
I've said since September that some desperate team could convince themselves to pay green upwards of 13 million year....knowing they could steal him from GSW. Many of you thought that was crazy. That's now a serious reality.

My orignal point was that if we have to pay him like a star, will he live up to that. If we could get Horford for him etc.

I may have seriously underestimated his shooting ability. But if he continues to play like this it's not out of the question in this cap crazy league to get a 50 mill deal.

That's something that could cause us real problems down the line. Anybody who thinks this guy is getting 9 mill a year is naive.

That is the biggest worry I have as a Warriors Fan right now. He is playing so well, im sure some bum-team will offer him 12 and depending on the rest of the season and the playoffs, maybe even more.
I still dont think we should trade him. There are not many teams that can give him 12+ and compete on the same level as the Warriors. That is my hope. Chemistry is as good as anywhere, if not better, so lets hope he takes the 10.5 and does us a favor...

The thing is Draymond on this team plays like a top 10 pf. On most other teams he's probably a defensive role player in the LRMM type role, defensive ace who can't score. Such is life playing with Curry and Klay.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

The only thing we can't afford is having Californiadude as a fan. Yikes.

You know the rule, hand down, man down. Mama there goes that poster.

Exactly. I'm not saying we should trade him, I'll happily admit I was wrong. All I'm saying is I may have been wrong about one thing but i was right about the other . He's a young rfa on a cap clogged team. And if he continues to play this way he's getting big time bucks. I said he was getting paid 4 years 36 based on his per-a-minute numbers in september and everyone thought I was crazy. I hope we can get him for 10.5 but I doubt it at this point. But some team is going to think they can steal him. They could throw a Lin style poisen pill offer at him. That's when things could get ugly.

If he continues to play as well as he has, then he'll deserve the big money. So is life. I was definitely wrong about him so far in a couple of aspects:

1) didn't think his shooting would be so good (as pointed out, a lot of it has to do with playing along with Curry and Klay in addition to Barnes who's been shooting lights out so far),

2) I didn't believe with his size mismatch against most 4s he'd be able to withstand all the physical play he'd be likely to receiving which so far he's been handling quite well to my surprise.

It's still a long season and will be interesting to see if his body will hold up over the long haul because I can guarantee some of the guys he'll be going up again will try and use their physicality against him and try and beat him down. I guess if he can continue to bust 3s like he has been of late, they'll have a difficult time of it, lol.

At this point, we're going to have to pay the tax. No way around it. It'll be Lacob's first big test of whether he's willing to spend. I'm sure everyone's preference is to dump either Iggy or Lee though.
