Lopez just shut down Duncan. Horford wasn't a factor on Friday either. It isn't really fair to use a supposition as an argument against Lopez in this scenario. Besides, You'd rather have Mirza go up against Love and Gasol instead of Lopez?

Lol at lopez 'shutting those guys down'. especially when in atlanta he was the biggest reason for all our defensive breakdowns. every pick and roll their players had tons of airspace. 1 on 1 defense on bigs isnt really a big deal. its about team defense and playing the pick and roll. thats what matters in the league. this isnt 1995 when you dump it down on the block the big takes a hook and you go the other way. its all about team defense, and lopez is a bad team defender who has been awful this year on D

And KG will continue getting only 24-28 minutes a night. What about the other 20 minutes? You think Plumlee/Jordan are better?

yes, plumlee/jordan are better as far as team defense goes.

If Kirilenko were in the rotation then I'd be more optimistic because he's versatile helps the ball movement and has great chemistry with Deron. But with lopez out all this means is that jack, Anderson and Plumlee will be getting more shots. That is terrible.

kirilenko is trash. he isnt helping in either case.

im not sure how there are still excuses for brook lopez. we sucked with him last year. we have sucked with him to start this year. he has been flat out bad this season, in all aspects. yet still excuses left and right.

brook lopez isnt a winning player. him not being here would not be a major issue

Yeah, Brook Lopez was the reason the perimeter players refused to defend the three point line.

I also seem to remember the team going 1-8 when Lopez didn't play during during the 12-13 season and 48-25 when he did play. Seems like a player capable of playing winning basketball. And before you throw out last season as an excuse to bash lopez. We were 7-10 with him during the first two months of a disastrous start to the season and 3-11 when he didn't play. The team improved after the team overhauled the system with the small/long ball that confused opponents. We didn't start off terribly last season because of Lopez, we started out terribly because EVERYONE in the starting five started out horribly. Lopez was the only player on the team with a positive +/- AND the team was drastically better when he played as opposed to when he sat on the bench while non-injured.

The fact that you STILL claim that Plumlee is an overall better player for his team after his disastrous start on BOTH ends just goes to show how pointless it is to argue about Brook Lopez with you. Plumlee a better defender?... LOL, that's almost as funny as your belief in Plumlee becoming a 15 and 10 player.

pretty much. thats the way team basketball works on defense. if one guy cause an issue, it collapse everything. lopez inability to gaurd the pick and role causes wing players to step in on the roll man and scramble on the ball handler or pop player. lopez was giving tons of air space on the pick and roll, causing others to constantly help.

the facts are the facts. since moving to brooklyn our record without him is insanely better then it is with him. there is no way around it. and we had our best success in brooklyn without him, especially in the playofffs were we beat a higher seed without him and lost to an injured lower seed with him.

we got better because he wasnt in there. period. it allows KG to move to center, it allows us to defend as a team properly, and it frees the ball to move better.

And brook lopez hasnt had a disasterous start on both ends? plumlee isnt great, but he is a better options. period. and once he starts getting playing time if lopez is infact out, his numbers will increase. hard to be 15/10 guy when you arent on the floor alot.

i also love how plumlee in his second year gets bashed to no end, but brook in his 7th year gets all these excuses. lopez is flat out a losing player. he give syou numbers but does nothing to help you win games. and his defensive issues just kill you all too often.
