Not sure how Boehiem got Waiters to buy into 6th man role when he was the best player as a Soph on a 2 loss Syracuse team. He came off the bench quickly and would play 30+ in key games. But somehow he kept a good attitude about it.

The guy has some skills. He can go to the basket at a good but not star rate Sometimes he can go hard, sometimes its a little too soft. But those long two's early in the shot clock are just ridiculous. It's just not needed on a good offensive team.

Don't know if he gets it enough to play a key role on a good team.

I don't think Waiters is mature enough for a big role on a good team right now. I keep going back to his pre-draft buzz and there was that story about how he cried every night to his mom early on in prep school. And then this story:

Both Boeheim and the assistant coach Mike Hopkins credited Brown for her work in keeping Waiters grounded. She said she made two emergency trips to Syracuse to calm him down, and said she took hundreds of phone calls while he vented his frustration. Hopkins said Brown worked with the coaches instead of demanding that her son get preferential treatment.

He's probably grown up a bit now, but not enough.
