Player of the Game - Wiz vs Cs (12/8/14)
I vote John Pierce tied with Paul Wall.
Comments:
1. FANTASTIC game to watch.
2. Truth was simply MAGNIFICENT: 28 points on 9-12 & 4-5 from 3 & 6-6 from the FT line & the mega-dagger clutch 3 which sent the game to the second OT & MULTIPLE brilliant defensive plays on Benzo Green when it really mattered & 7 rebounds & 3 brilliant assists which led to dunks by Gortat & 2 steals. He has had an excellent overall season so far EXCEPT for his 3 point shooting. 3-6 yesterday & 4-5 today - it certainly looks like the 3 point stroke of the future HOFER who currently ranks 5th in NBA history in 3 point shots made (& will retire as #3 with >2000 3 point shots made) HAS RETURNED!!! Oh yeah, & during the very same game, he passes Reggie Miller to become the 16th leading scorer in NBA history. He has a real chance to retire in 1 1/2 seasons as the TENTH leading scorer in mother **** NBA history - UN **** REAL!!!
3. John Wall was otherworldly & simply totally took over the second OT - 26 points, 17 assists & 7 rebounds & 3 steals - on the negative side, 9 mostly second half TOs obviously sucks & abetted the Celtics comeback. When he cleans that part up, he will be hands down the best PG in the NBA.
4. Both Gortat & Humphries scored & rebounded very well.
5. The Rondo-less Celtic comeback was very gutsy. Kudos to KO, ET, BB & MEGA-MEGA-ESPECIALLY to the future PG of the next Boston Celtic contender - Marcus Smart. He is strong as an ox, passes well, rebounds, defends & actually has the ability to evolve into a REAL shooter/scorer as well. He just needs to mature & develop. Time has come to trade the little trip dub machine sharpshooter, & give his minutes to Marcus.

SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

I was watching the interview and just became a John Wall fan. You guys have a heck of a player, and even better, a heck of a good man. Best of luck to John Wall, the Wizards, and the fans.

That was no back to back, that was an epic saga. Storylines everywhere, those two games are why i love the NBA.
Wall in that last 3 minutes or so was absolutely dominant. MVP level. We never should have let them catch up, but boy oh boy did he just flick the switch there at the end and win the game for us.
On another note I really like Marcus Smart, he should be a pretty good PG. No Rondo, but if they decide to trade Rondo for picks and prospects they should be fine. Some great young players on that team.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

My vote goes to Pierce. It was surely his best game as a Wizard and he did it on the 2nd game of a back to back. His scoring efficiency was scary and he had only 1 turnover.

John Wall: Master and Commander
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Amid all of the deserved praise for Wall in the OTs, we should not lose sight that, yet again, it was his poor decision-making and poor play with all of the TOs at the end of the third qtr. that gave the Celtics life to begin their comeback. I find the high-stepping and circus passes (i.e. hook shot alley oop lob pass to a covered Beal on the break that never had a chance) to be unnecessary showboating and gloating and (in hindsight, unjustified) overconfidence to be unprofessional and inappropriate.
For that reason, I chose Pierce as POTG.
Hopefully, Pierce took him aside after the win and lectured him about humility and class when your team is up by 20.

Very sad to hear. Such a beautiful girl. Watched the video and read about it and brought tears to my eyes. RIP Miyah.

That beautiful little girl was a hero to an NBA player that millions of kids look up to....I can only imagine how strong of a fighter and how buoyant of a personality she must have had.....John's emotions speak volumes about Miyah and who she was. My thoughts are with Miyah's family and friends.
