Yeah, no doubt Bogut is an awesome rim protector, but checking those stats I see that Deandre has also gotten into the top 10 defenders when it comes to % on shots allowed at the rim. Even though he started awfully, allowing nearly 60% of those to go in, he's now allowing a decent 44.8% of the shots he contests at the rim for the season, and that percentage keeps going under.
As a team, we're still in the bottom 3rd of the league on those shots with a 54.4%, and that's a very important statistic, since we're one of the teams that allow less shots at the rim in the league. But if we let them score on most of those we allow, we aren't going nowhere.
I feel like our defensive scheme is really good, but we don't execute it very well. Like I said, we're one of the teams that allows less shots at the rim, but we allow them to shoot at 54.4%, we also let teams shoot a lot of threes, but we hold them to a very low 33.3%. That's because, other than the Bulls, we're the team that allows less corner threes, and we too force teams to shoot a decent amount of midrange shots. We're also in the top 3 of teams that allow the least layups in the league. The system is there, and we get teams to shoot the right kind of shots to have a great defense, but the shots we allow, they're scoring at a great rate, and that's holding our defense back.
