He can guard SF's, but can he do it effectively? I don't even think he's a good defender at SG. I remember every time I saw Indiana last year, he was the main culprit for each defensive breakdown I focused in. And they were one of the best defensive teams in the past decade so they could cover for his mistakes, he'd be a trainwreck here with our defensive problems. I watched a lot of him last year because he was the guy keeping my fantasy team afloat, and while he was effective on a team like Indy that needed ball-handling, I didn't see any other good qualities about him. Now that he's in Charlotte where Kemba can take care of the drive-and-dish opportunities, Lance is unable to be effective doing anything else. He can't shoot, he can't do anything off the ball, and if he's not engaged offensively forget about him giving any effort on the other end.
Yeah, we have the leadership and the coaching to keep him from going full re-tard, but what's the point of it if the player that's left isn't even that good? I wouldn't even want him if they were giving us assets for taking him in. Crawford is much more effective than him at the 6th man ball-hogging role.
Of course, he fits the mold of the Eastern Conference guy that's been deep in the playoffs a couple times, so I bet Doc ends up trading for him
