Hornets Week 6: Interesting Defensive Wrinkles

Post#1 » by LamarMatic7 » Thu Dec 11, 2014 11:02 pm

http://lamarmatic.wordpress.com/2014/12 ... -wrinkles/

Our aggressive defense against Chicago;
Us doubling Melo (first double teams of the year);
Us zoning up against Boston (first zone of the year);
and some minor stuff (Kemba's cuts past Al, MKG attacking Green, some stuff on Lance - I think I've said all of this on the board beforehand anyway)

i love the parts about the NBA zones and lance. it would be very interesting if the team clearly felt they made a mistake with lance and traded him soon after the 15th. can you think of any other recent examples of a team turning against a major free agent signing that quickly?

Another phenomenal piece my man. I retweeted you and told Mike Persinger how that was an awesome read.

Would be outstanding if you were ever a future MOD on here. hint hint ;)

Dwight Howard would probably be the best recent example, I suppose.

yeah, I saw that. thanks for doing that, I figured I might take a different angle and send my links towards editors like Persinger.

I was tired so I came off kind of snobbish but, in hindsight, that was a **** horrible tweet. I came off look like some twitter bot, I'm surprised he even favourited my tweet. :lol:

yeah, unless some changes will be made in the next CBA regarding the mod salary cap, I don't think we'll manage to work this out.

You should be proud. Belgium has its faults (Wallonia and Flanders split) but it's an amazing place. I would LOVE to find an opportunity to live and work in Europe again.

by the way, did you hear about the group draw for the 2015 European Basketball Championship that Latvia is partially hosting?

we're in the same group and we're hungry for revenge after you guys beat us last year when our guys chocked under the pressure of having the possibility of making it into the top eight and possibly participating in the World Champs (the same tournament where Ukraine played thanks to the pointless W you got against us, the same Ukraine we demolished by 40 or something).

it was one of the most depressing losses in Latvian sports history. we had had a team of drunkards and guys who loved to have a good time (including Biedrins) and after their ways were discovered by the media, we under-went a massive rebuild. this basically was a team of three veterans and 24, 25-year olds who two tournaments ago were thrown into the fire and lost all six games.

so even if Belgium basketball isn't exactly what you are known for, you have that going for you. you destroyed the hopes of a very likeable Latvian team :D
