Doubt that the Raptors are going to file out reports just for you cause you wanted to. We all want to know how Bruno is progressing, we're also not going to know unless he posts something up on Instagram.

Yea probably but it is hard knowing the he is just what we need right now with DD out and yet not even a sniff from our prized rookie .

He is certainly no Quincy Acy when it comes to Cheerleading.

most of brazilians don't like him because he never plays for national team

since 2002 he played just 3 times for brazil national team.

fwiw I think fran fraschilla may be way more on the mark with his 4 years away comment then most fanboys would like to beleive.

disagree with the connotation of that. If he was on a bad team, he would be getting some shine in blowout losses. Fortunately the Raps are good. Yes, defense isnt there, but you dont come in and rack up 9 points or whatever it was in limited time against MIL. Most rookies outside of the top ten would love to contribute like that in there first year...most don't. His positive energy is already present...yes he will take time, but the FF quote is negating his presence in practice and with the fans. Contributeing more than just on the court without playing time. Sorry that was deep I know...

Bruno retweeted this and I thought it was funny :)

The kid has some high aspirations!

I think Bruno's playing time and the trust Casey has in him will largely depend on how quick he's able to pick up the language. I believe his English is still rather poor judging from latest interviews? Maybe getting Bebe wasn't such a wise move, he should be practicing talking English, not Portuguese

I'm interested as well. Bruno is completely lost on defense, but I can't see why it would take him 4 years to learn it. Offensively he could already play limited minutes.

I think he's at least a couple seasons away from contributing more than 15mpg for sure. He needs to learn a completely new language from scratch, get stronger, learn defensive schemes... Not to mention he has to strengthen other parts of his individual game to an NBA level... That's a lot.

He's very talented for sure, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was miles ahead of him at the same age - not to mention he was thrown into a good situation for him - a team that can afford to give him playing time right away.

P.S. Having all of this in mind, why aren't we sending Bruno to D-League?! Is travelling/praciticing with Raptors and sitting on a bench during games for such a raw guy like Bruno really more beneficial than ACTUAL PLAYING TIME?

I think by 16-17, he will have the opportunity be a big contributor on this team. Getting PT doesn't equal good situation.

I believe Masai mentioned possibly January is when Bruno might get sent down to the D-League but it won't be for long stretches. Probably a game here and there. I believe there is more for Bruno to gain being with the big club this early in the season than there is for him to be playing D-League games. You talked about him learning the defensive schemes. Well he certainly isn't going to be learning defensive schemes in the D-League. You also talked about improving his English. Well, how is he planning to communicate with his D-League teammates right now if his English isn't up to par?

I think it's important for him to get acclimated with his teammates and receive instruction/direction from his coaches. All the off-court stuff is where most of his developing will be seen for this season

Those are fair points.

I still think he must get playing time somewhere sometime soon. The guy is still at the age where he's learning very quickly. The older he gets the slower his development will become. I mean, he started playing basketball just 6 years ago, this stretch of constant bench warming isn't good for him.

I hear ya. I do understand it would be nice to get him something so he has a better feel for the pace of an NBA game. However, he did just turn 19. I just think we have be patient considering how much of a project this is.

In comparison, someone like Jimmy Butler didn't get much PT in his rookie season at 22. Now, at 25, he has just finally put it all together

I think Casey has been saying that Bruno is always the last one out of the gym and his days are very long. It seems like they have him quite occupied right now. Whether it be practices, hitting the weight room, improving his English, watching videos, working 1 on 1, etc...
