They've been ridiculed and berated by Thibs for the entirety of his stay there, I can't imagine they'd tune him out now when they have a good shot to win this year. Although I'm sure they look around and see guys like McHale, Kerr and Joerger "aw shucks" their way to top tier D and wonder why they have to put up with this maniac.

Thibs will hold it down. I wouldn't put anything into this. The Bulls will be in the playoffs (with or without DRose).

0% chance to win it this year. If somehow, they make it to the finals by staying healthy and rested, and beating the Cavs/Raptors/Wiz along the way, the Spurs will sweep them.

This reminds me of how Scott Skiles coaching tenure. He would be amazing defensive coach that would create a top ten defense, but after about three years of screaming, the players would tune him out. I think Thibs is better than Skiles and has the championship background with both the Celtics and USA team to hold the team together, but you have to be careful of Noah and Gibson. Those are two team leaders that you don't want to lose in the locker room.

I am still hopeful the Bulls trade Gibson to us. He'd be a perfect starter if we cannot retain Amir.

Agreed. Taj would be perfect on this team. In fact, I'd love to have him and Amir on the team.

Thibs running his players into the ground playing them 40 minutes night after night is the much bigger issue for the Bulls than this.

Hopefully Thibs gets fired and we can scoop him up.

Why is the East so dysfunctional? Must be something in the Atlantic Ocean water.

Most teams have maxed out, and are either rebuilding (76ers, Celtics, Knicks, Pistons) or trying to make one last run/stay competitive (Bulls, Nets, Heat).

Young teams are emerging (Raptors, Wizards, Bucks, Hawks, Magic, Cavs). The West is a younger conference (Rockets, Warriors, Pelicans, Thunder, Suns, Nuggets, Blazers).

Ok, well try telling them that. I guarantee you they all think they can win it all this year and aren't going to drop a bunch of games to get the coach fired just because they don't like him.

Btw, there's nonsense coming out of Chicago every year. It's not a big deal, they always seem to do well in spite of it.

Really wonder what Thibs would do with a deep roster and 5 guards. Thibs might be worth 10 wins / season over Casey. Worth a first round pick IMHO.

All i gathered from this is that I wish the Raps were as passionate about defense as that.

So we have one coach who doesn't play his starting 5 enough minutes, and another coach who rides his players for 40 min a night.

Ami and Thibs cannot co-exist lol. Amir would break down after a week with those ankles and all them 40 min nights.

He for sure isn't worth 10 wins.. Maybe 2-4 and even that is pretty high. I honestly don't think his usuage would be that much different. He would play Lowry 38 mins a night and he would break down before the postseason.

Thibs usually runs defensive guys into the ground, Butler and Noah, but he uses guards pretty efficiently. Bulls bench has never been good and as a defensive coach its understandable why he ran Butler out so much. Toronto doesn't really have a player to abuse like Butler on the team. He played 40 mpg while being next to useless on offense.

I didn't realize Sam Cassell coaches the Bulls.
