Have we even had a two way playing big man since Patrick Ewing? I suppose Kurt Thomas could fit that description. Other than that, all we have had were either Eddy Curry, Amare, Channing Frye, David Lee, Harrington type of all offense/no defense types or Tyson, Dalembert types that brought defense but very little on offense. Having a potential two way big man would make our rebuild/retool much easier since a player like Towns could potentially play next to anyone. While with Okafor we would have to make sure we got a defensive big specifically to play next to him. That's why I am leaning to Towns at this moment, but that could change later in the season.

If I get back 2 Id rather drop the pick for 2-3 picks--maybe 2 #1 's this year and 1 next but I would walk out with Kaminsky or Stein at a minimum(maybe both>?)) Also not above trading the pick for additional lower pick and young player. I would still like to swipe Nurkic from Denver. Something like Nurkic Greene and their number 1 picks in 2015 and 2017 for the number 2 pick.

I was gonna say something about that but left it alone.

To be fair when Okafor gets to the NBA level I think they'll put him as a PF later on in his career. His offense is great, he's a good passer, his defense is just terrible..........reminds me of another player with similar characteristics was a C & got reassigned to the PF slot:

I was gonna say something about that but left it alone.

To be fair when Okafor gets to the NBA level I think they'll put him as a PF later on in his career. His offense is great, he's a good passer, his defense is just terrible..........reminds me of another player with similar characteristics was a C & got reassigned to the PF slot:

Okafor is bigger, longer, and feet arent as quick. He cant defend power forwards. He cant defend the perimeter. He operates in and around the paint on defense and offense. I dont see him being anything other than a center at any point of his career.

Okafor is maybe 6-9 he has long arms but does not play long at all. He also does not rebound out of space gets lost on defense. Hes still the number 1 pick as guys who have 25-10 potential dont come around every year. His offense is advanced and easy for him. He should be able to over power 4's and skill out 5's But we'd need a C who can rim protect to play alongside. If we got Stein and Ok4 thats be a great draft but also not happening.

I dont understand why we need a rim protector along side though. Okafor needs to play in the paint so your rim protector playing alongside him is going to be guarding the opposing 4 and doing very little rim protecting. I rather have a stretch 4 who punishes them for every double by either knocking down a shot or swinging the ball to a better shot.

You can't have a stretch 4 that camps at the 3 point line paired with a c that who doesn't defend it would be a layup drill who is gonna stop all the guards running around in the paint? We both know our guards won't and if oakafor can't we'd need someone paired with him who can.

who is this Chris McCullough cat from Cuse.

He has been rising up some draft boards. A 6'10 big with some skills. I haven't seen him play yet.

Freak athlete. Good shot blocker who can step out and hit the three with a very solid mid-range jumper. Solid rebounder with decent finishing skills around the basket. Needs to get stronger but once he does is definitely a big time talent.

Tough to gauge him as he's put up very solid numbers and made a bunch of analysts say "wow" during the game but is held back by the fact Cuse's offense is ridiculously bad so far. McCullough and Rakeem Christmas (who will probably go early 2nd round) are the only guys who can do anything right now and they play the 4/5 spots with every defense just clogging the paint and daring Cuse's guards to shoot 3's.

One guy that looked semi interesting the other night was Georgetown center Josh Smith. He's not the most athletic guy and he's a bit thick but that is one big strong mofo with soft hands and a physical streak. If he could ever get into shape he could be a solid 2nd round pick.
