GDT Week 15 - Non Niners Games (McCoy Hurt; Manziel's Debut)

Post#1 » by DoobieKeebler » Sun Dec 14, 2014 6:54 pm

Colt McCoy questionable with a neck injury

-------------

Manziel's debut is overshadowed by quick strikes by Cincinnati's offense / Cleveland's defense sucking up the joint. Cleveland up 17-0 after 1 quarter. (edit: Dang. 20-0 with 10+ minutes left in the 2nd)

-------------

CBS has started a ticker showing how long it has been since Alex Smith has thrown a TD to a WR. Smith had a great shot at ending the dry spell because the Raiders DB tripped over himself on a pick play and straight fell down, leaving the Chiefs WR WIIIIDE open, but Alex missed him. The Alex Smith ticker is at 1 year, 6 days, a handful of minutes and counting......

------------

I added the Ravens D for my fantasy team with 1 minute to spare before the roster deadline was about to set.... and the Ravens already have a blocked punt for a TD. :D I'm tryin to win me another FF title!

That appeared to be a terrible call on the Pittsburgh defense on the hit on Matt Ryan. Extended their drive and they just scored on Hester reception TD.

Wow. Alex Smith absolutely put every ounce of strength he has into that deep bomb. The ball barely traveled 40 yards AND the WR had to slow down/adjust his route.

Then again, half the time Peyton Manning unleashes a long bomb it kind of looks like duck too, so I guess throwing a knuckle-football is better than throwing a Kaeper-dart.

Does manziel have 1 yard and 1 interception at this moment?

Did I read that right?

Craig Robertson with a huge INT for Cleveland. Of course Manziel and the Cleveland offense failed to do anything and immediately stalled, failing to convert a 3rd & 1 after 3 plays, but went for it and converted a 4th & inches. Maybe the start of some momentum? Nope. Cleveland stalled again, but were bailed out once more after Rey Maualuga got flagged for taunting Johnny Football.

And then Cleveland got bailed out once more the very next play! Manziel threw a slant pass way too high, which bounced off the hands of his WR and was intercepted by Cincinnati.... except Cincinnati had lined up in the neutral zone, so the play was nullified and Cleveland is on their 4th chance this drive.

Manziel almost gets sacked, escapes the pocket, gets rid of the ball..... into the hands of Reggie Nelson. INT. Bengals ball on their own 20 yard line.

Man! I knew I shouldn't have started Josh Gordon in fantasy playoffs. (but... but.... it was such a sexy idea....)

Just when Cincinnati is about to step on the Browns and crush them like ants, Cleveland gets lucky and technically keeps the door open for a comeback. Cincinnati drove down the field and was in FG range when the Cleveland D got a BIG sack & then a 3rd down stop, having the ball punted back to them.

Cincinnati better hope the Browns continue to struggle on offense. (of course the Browns went 3 & out in the time it took me to take a bong rip and type this out)

Manziel had an A. Rodgers type of game today.

Packers just choked away home field advantage. Wouldn't it just be a kick in the crotch if the Hawks get homefield advantage after all their midseason struggles?

And as a double-whammy, I may lose in the FF semis despite arguably the best team I've ever had because Rodgers and Charles put up virtually season-worst performances.

On the fantasy/49ers-relevant topic, I started the Niners last week against Oakland. They scored two points. KC just scored 22 against Oakland. So ugly.

I had to watch the replay 3 or 4 times to see why it was reversed. I still don't agree with the reversal and wholeheartedly believe it should have at the very least stayed a TD. Definitely wasn't enough to overturn the TD. But c'est la vie, I 'spose.
