Nets Superfan Who was Dragged Out of MSG has Passed Away

Post#1 » by Trader_Joe » Mon Dec 15, 2014 12:12 am

http://www.netsdaily.com/2014/12/14/739 ... after-leap
Jeffrey Vanchiro, who had gained widespread attention as a colorful and outspoken fan of the Nets, was on a ventilator late Sunday afternoon and was not expected to survive after falling from a second-story window in Flushing, Queens, late on Saturday night.

Vanchiro was staying at his father’s house Saturday night. Vanchiro’s fiancée, Kristi Evans, who was with Vanchiro’s family at New York Hospital Queens on Sunday, said that Vanchiro’s father told her that Vanchiro awoke apparently disoriented and leapt from the building. Evans said that Vanchiro sustained severe brain damage and a fractured spinal cord in the fall, and that his brain had stopped functioning Sunday morning.

Apparently he suffered head and back injuries while be dragged out (and dropped) by MSG security and hasn't been the same since.

Tragic story and I feel awful for his family.

Damn, very upsetting to hear. Seemed like an upbeat, positive guy. Prayers to him and his family

According to MSG being unruly.
According to many around him he was simply rooting very loudly for the Nets and when asked to tone it down he started rooting loudly for the Knicks. There was also a claim he hit someone with his prosthetic leg but there was no evidence of that.

“After that, he was a completely different person,” Evans said. “He was paranoid. He was erratic. He was frightened. He was horrified. He was a bit delusional. He was having a lot of trouble sleeping. He couldn’t sleep at all. When he would sleep, or try to sleep, it would only take about 10 or 15 minutes before he would jump up screaming covered in sweat.”

All for being dragged out and dropped by security?

He supposedly suffered head injuries during the incident.
Not to mention it was apparently a traumatic event for him. I'm sure losing his leg was a traumatic event that may have come to the surface when a guard touched his leg leading to Gamberlo to take it off.

Collateral damage of the "clean" NBA product the middle class prefers. Can't cope with some vivid fandom, but care little about some dead bodies.
I've come to the conclusion that most folks don't really care that you broke one of the rules... they just enjoy telling you that you broke it.

One more reason to hate the Knicks.

Brain dead basically means your dead. Only thing keeping your body from deteriorating is a machine. If your brain doesn't work than the part that makes you what you are ceases to exist. I feel bad for the guy.

So do I, I was thinking coma I guess, where rarely someone pulls out of it. I feel awful for him, and sorry for the mixup on my own part.

Probably a suicide his family is trying to bank on by making a connection to him getting kicked out of a basketball game. Seems to be working based off the replies in this thread.

Wow. I saw that man on the train last Friday. He caught me off guard and gave me a high five because I was wearing a Brooklyn Nets hat. Said he was going to see the game in Brooklyn. It was on the Metropolitan/Lorimer train stop on the G train. He was wearing bright lime green and taking/chilling with his friend.

That's crazy I hope he stays alive and survives. Dam I feel so bad because I was initially hesetent to give him a high five, but I gave it because I didn't want to leave him hanging. He was so happy and cheerful. Wow this is such a small world and it's crazy how fast and unexpected someone's life can be taken away

So you think the first thoughts his fiancée and immediately family after he fell from the second story of a building was how to profit of his injuries (which will likely lead to his death) rather than thinking about him and how sad it is that he's no longer with them?
