I like Stephenson but I'm not for adding a "win now" piece unless they are a much better player than Stephenson.

Trade Targets

Post#422 » by machu46 » Mon Dec 15, 2014 2:04 am

Yeah...I'm not doing it as a win now move though. The kids like 22 or 23 isn't he? He could absolutely be a part of the young core.

I'm not saying to trade 1st round picks or anything for him, but if we could move a couple of our vets or maybe someone like Henson for him, I would definitely be down.

Stephenson is a legit sociopath and would destroy the future of this team, he's not even that great of a player.

Yeah, that would be for the front office to decide. If they think it would put Giannis and Jabari at risk mentally, then obviously we shouldn't do it. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if Kidd thinks he'd be able to get through to him.

I could really get behind a Henson for THJ trade.

Sitting here trying to figure out how could anybody like Stephenson.

At this point even his mom is like, "Oh yes, of course I still love, uh... [mumbling] Bance."

Dude has been a problem everywhere he has ever went, it's not just being a lil crazy. Stephenson is shockingly stupid and delusional about himself as a person and as a player. He basically ruined Roy Hibbert's life and is getting chased out Charlotte when they were the only team interested in him in the offseason as soon as they possibly can. All we need is this knucklehead to do something stupid while we're lobbying for this new arena, this guy is the worst cancer in the NBA and ticking time bomb.

Dude is just awful. I'm all about winning but I'm not mercenary enough to give that guy a dime for any reason.

Kings FO/owner seem to be impantient.Maybe we could take advantage of the situation and offer them a few win now vets in exchange for some nice prospects or picks.

BUCK’S PRIORITIES
1 create winning culture
2 build to be challenger in 2-3 yrs
3 develop young talent
4 accumulate & manage assets
5 only make transaction that serves 1, 2, 3 or 4

FREE AGENCY – up-coming
internal – IF knight is to be a SG or 3G – then I might re-sign. If Ham doesn’t bid against himself – I think market will be soft for knight. maybe 4yr/40mil
external - Not this year – wait one more year – unless butler can somehow can be gotten

DRAFT next year
Because the East sucks the Bucks very likely make the playoffs and their draft position drops to 16 or later. So that 1st pick probably more value in trade than as a pick.

TRADE COMMENTARY
Acquiring 26 yr old Teague, 24 yr old Zeller and 22 yr old Sullinger serve the #1 priority as they will win now more as it is an upgrade of their 3 biggest weaknesses PG play, rebounding & interior size. They along with 21 yr old Staukus also serve #2 & 3. Even with turning 29 in 3 yrs Teague has long range value many years beyond as his game doesn’t rely on speed or athleticism but on vision, bb iq and execution which ages well and allows effective play well into mid 30’s like many PGs have.

TRADES
A henson middleton bayless – ATL - Teague 2nd
B ersan – HOU – TPE 2nd
C mayo zaza – SAC – Stauskus Williams

3 team 7 player
MIL Williams 1st-LAC 1st-LP / + Sullinger Zellar
MN- Pekovic 2nd / + Bass Williams 1st-LAC, 1st-LP
BOS- Sullinger Zellar Bass / + Pekovic 2nd

ROSTER
sanders / zeller / eric
giannis / sullinger / job
parker / dudley / inglis /
knight / stauskus
teague / wolters / marshall

I'd definitely call the Lakers about Ed Davis and the Magic about Mo Harkless.

Rondo was cheered for elbowing Stephenson last week. That's how awesome of a person he is. Would gladly let him be a role model to Giannis and Jabari.

I haven't seen much of Davis but it does look like there's a bit to work with, Harkless I'm less keen on as he still doesn't look like he's going to get a jumper.

Harkless shot .476fg% and .400% from 3 post all star break last year.
The Magic are 7-12 on the season and still finding their way, but it seems clear that forward Maurice Harkless and big man Andrew Nicholson are not going to play a big role for the team, which has some teams sniffing around about their availability.

Harkless clearly is the bigger trade asset, however sources close to the Magic say Harkless is one of GM Rob Hennigan’s favorite guys. He is not getting consistent playing time, though, and seems to be in head coach Jacque Vaughn’s doghouse. Harkless has said he’s trying to make the best of the situation, but it is clear that if the Magic are not going to play him that moving him becomes almost inevitable.

Like Harkless, Nicholson has been marginalized with the emergence of other players and he too sits more than he plays, prompting teams to inquire about his availability in trade.

The Magic at some point are going to need to decide what to do with their excess pieces, and as teams start making offers, the Magic might find a deal worth doing.
http://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-am-almost-trade-season-in-the-nba/

I think Harkless and Nicholson would be ideal replacements for Dudley and Ersan if we are able to move them elsewhere. Of course the Magic may hold on to Harkless as Tobes insurance. Davis still looks like a SF out there playing Center and relying on his quickness.
