As much as I'd hate to help TOR, that's pretty intersting for them in the wake of Derozan's injury. But Then does Johnson become a $25M 6th man next season?

I get the cash savings for BKN, but I wonder if theyd rather move Williams.

.

For tonight's game versus the Knicks, Pops rested Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, and Patty Mills. None of them were available.

WHO ELSE IS LEFT ON THE SPURS?

I wonder if they held open tryouts for roster spots. Bet you, miller could have gotten some spot minutes at shooting guard tonight.

Never mind. That no-star lineup Pops is fielding is up by 21 points over the Knicks after the third period.

Everyone is resting AND they're killing 'em. That's why Pops is the best coach in the NBA.

They also didn't have Splitter. Actually, Splitter and Mills both haven't played this year.

Jeff Ayers and Aaron Baynes were getting buckets. Rook Kyle Anderson looked good.

Gotta love the Spurs

CCJ was right about Pau Gasol. He is beasting with the Bulls right now.

I don't think he's played defense this good in YEARS... probably since 2010 NBA Finals.

Kinda wish we had Pau instead of Nene especially at that contract.

The Sacramento Kings have fired coach Mike Malone, sources told ESPN.com Sunday night.

The Kings got off to a surprising 5-1 start to the season but have lost eight of their past 10 -- a swoon that has coincided with star DeMarcus Cousins' bout with viral meningitis -- and have fallen to 11-13.

With Cousins off to an impressive start and the team electing to sign Rudy Gay to a three-year extension, the Kings appeared to be headed in the right direction.

But the Kings "expected more," and there was "no incident" that led to Malone's ouster, one source told ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne.

So, Vivek Ranadive is insane. He fired Mike Malone -- from what I can tell, for overachieving.

Now would be a great time for Boogie Cousins to throw a temper tantrum and begin to lay the groundwork for a deal to DC to play with his point guard :-).

The Kings' record right now would be decent enough on the assumption Boogie played every game. The fact he's been out the last 9 games and they've still been a gritty team that's overachieved is gravy.

And he's getting Cousins to play inspired basketball?

And you're firing him?

So is it too soon to make the final determination whether Steve Kerr made the right choice in selecting the Warriors over the Knicks?

Gortat, Porter and 3 future firsts for Cousins.

Chris Bosh is out indefinitely and McRoberts is out for the season. Tough break for the Heat and while its always better to beat a team at their best, this should make Friday's game a little bit easier. Watch out South Beach - the Wizards should be in the mood to party after the game.

Jabari Parker has a torn ACL and is out the rest of the year. Yikes.

Ramona Shelburne: Lakers offer for Rondo was Nash & multiple picks. They have Houston's first in 2015 from Lin trade Twitter @ramonashelburne

Jeff Zillgitt: Whatever Lakers were offering for Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green - I was told Jordan Hill and a first-rounder at least - Celtics declined. Twitter @JeffZillgitt

Um...Lakers...you should have been making these offers like 2 months ago.

Lakers couldn't trade Jordan Hill until after December 15th. But yeah, everyone knew they were going to stink.

Nice.

DAL going all in for Dirk by landing Rondo

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... ondo-Trade

The Mavericks would send Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson, one future first round pick and a future second round pick to the Celtics for Rondo and Dwight Powell.

"The deal is on course to happen tonight," said one source.
