I've noticed that too... Hey, if we can swing some sort of a Lance for Lopez trade without giving up any draft picks, we should do it.

I'm still uncertain if we should do JJ/Lopez for Lance/Jefferson.

One thing that occurred to me when thinking of a Williams/Stephenson/Johnson core, was the comparison to Kidd/Carter/Jefferson. The later team suffered from a lack of a solid big man, where we would have some decent role players who can play both sides of the ball.

Yeah, our problem with that squad is that none of the big men were athletic and could not rebound/finish around the basket.

I'm wary of that repeating itself.

I think our combination of bigs though is pretty balanced, as long as the rotations are done properly.

Mirza and KG go together as the starters. Then Jefferson, Plumlee, Davies, and Jordan as reserves, which their strength would be athleticism. My concern would be off the bench, and getting a veteran PF to play alongside Plumlee (Marvin Williams maybe?). But I think those bigs are way better than the Jason Collins era of bigs, lol.

Don't think the Hornets are interested in including Jefferson.

We're looking at a Stephenson, Marvin Williams and Henderson deal most Likely.

Which I'm fine with either of those guys as filler. I would think they each could be 15-20 minute a night contributors.

Any news today? Anything from Woj? I need something.

How would Lopez look playing alongside Jordan Hill or Ed Davis, becoming a true #2 option (literally either Kobe high post post-up or a Lopez low post)? I think he's a strong possibility for L.A.

Not until after Krstic got hurt. Damn shame if you ask me, I thought Krstic was going to be special.

Which is a COUP for us as all three players can be contributors on this team in areas of need.

Lopez needs to play alongside someone who minimizes his deficiencies, so Hill and Davis are a better fit next to him than Boozer.

Today is the first day that a deal can be made for Lance because he was signed in the summer.

Lopez has to be healthy first. By next week, we will have an idea of where this proposal goes.

He doesn't need to be back in order for the deal to get done.

If the Nets were really keen on doing it, they could have a trade agreed to in principle and just have Lopez go for a physical to see the extent of his back injuries.

Now what would be really messed up is if a trade does happen but Lopez fails his physical. Now THAT would be upsetting!

Robert Windrem, aka Billy Kings media tool, just suggested that the deal would be Lopez for Lance, Biyombo and a 1st. He also suggested that Hollins hard nosed coaching would factor into this decision.

When he starts commenting on things then you know this rumor has legs. I think the 1st rounder is the sticking point. If we can get Lance and Biyombo for Lopez BK needs to do it ASAP. We kicked the tires on Kyle Lowry last year and decided to pass. How does that look now? Lance's upside is significantly higher then Lowry's and his contract is very team friendly. The Piston's took a chance on a knucklehead named Rasheed Wallace once and went on to win it all.

Where did you hear this suggestion? If this is real, ID LOVE THIS! we get the exact Center we need in Biyombo, get Lance and not have to give up Joe.

I agree with the above poster, I could actually do without the First round pick if that moves this trade along quicker. We'd have to drop a player but it would be really easy to drop any of our non-guaranteed contracts.

I could see this happening:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=phzrau7

nice return, forces us to not drop anyone. Markel gets the chance to get more playing time

I cant say the site even though it's relevant to the topic. The guy is well sourced and Billy King uses him to leak big moves. He said Lopez is gone. It looks like Lance will be a Net soon. He said it might be Zeller instead of the 1st rounder

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lf6mkc6

Lopez

for

Lance Stephenson
Cody Zeller

I love this trade. We would be getting the better Zeller brother who can play PF.

Garnett - Plumlee - Jordan
Mirza - Zeller - Jefferson
Johnson - Bogs - Karasev
Stephenson - Anderson - M Brown
DWill - Jack - D Morris

The entire dynamic of the team will be different. We will be able to fast break finally. Im not a big fan of Mirza but we will need his 3pt shot since Stephenson isnt a good 3pt shooter. The offense will run through Johnson like it should and Lance will be groomed by Hollins to be the better version of Tony Allen.

Eh, I'm on the fence about this. I do want to see if Zeller and Plumlee can be a good energizer duo because I think they can be a good mix but Biyombo has way more upside at 22 and is a much better rebounder, shot blocker and I would rather have a 1st round pick than Zeller.

I think Biyombo is the classic "first guy off the bus". Yes his measurables are off the charts but he is basketball stupid.

Zeller needs another year or two but he has much bigger upside.

Lance is going to jump start this season. He brings a lot of the traits we are lacking.
- He likes to play defense
- He can score in transition
- He drives the ball well and without fear
- He isnt soft.

I hope KG takes him under his wing and shows him how to focus that energy positively. I know it's playing with fire bringing him back to Brooklyn but we need a change.

If we make this trade we will be well positioned in our rebuild.

Lance 24 (All-Star level talent)
Bogs 26 in April
Plumlee 25 in March
Zeller 22
Karasev 21
Jefferson 24 next week
Brown 23 in Jan

Billy King has done a fine job of getting this team younger via trade. I think he has done a fine job as a GM.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
