Thomas just fired his agent, I guess he was expecting to start or something lol. I wonder if a Monroe+Augustin for IT deal would work. Both Monroe and IT could start on theyre new teams and theyre are reports out that Monroe wants traded badly.

Monroe for Dragic. Suns won't do it, but I like the sound of it.

would it be possible to do a sign n trade with them at the end of the year for monroe and we take on perkins, plus mcgary, perry jones, and jermy lamb?

maybe we add a 2nd round pick

* or maybe sign n trade monroe for reggie jackson and mcgary

then draft a SF

The only way I see Detroit able to trade Monroe is if SVG straight up tells him that they're going to renounce his rights on July 1st and he will lose his bird rights no matter what team he finishes the season with.

That being said- if they could move him for Reggie Jackson, I wouldn't blink twice.

He definitely is a starter. And Jennings isnt the answer. He is the only option I see for us moving forward, other then "mudiay", which is not likely, or paying up for dragic.

I want an alpha dog at PG. IT is not it for me.

There was speculation about how much the money was. But, why would he back up Jennings on a bad team when he could play for the run'n'gun Suns? I don't blame him. Plus, Dragic is likely gone this summer and that will give him all the minutes he can handle.

If we would have got IT I highly doubt he would be a back up I would question why would he play for the suns and be a backup to two other PG's. He would probably have been the first option on offense on the Pistons too.

I want no part of Isaiah Thomas here - Decision-making is a key aspect of being a point guard and he failed spectacularly when he chose to go to a team with three point guards already on it and expected to start.

He seriously expected to start? Lol I missed this, is there a backstory to this?

Well, he signed with the Suns and Bledsoe wasn't signed to the team yet. Everyone was pulling up trade suggestions for Bledsoe, like us, Monroe for Bledsoe. Maybe he (his agent) felt like there were good odds that Bledsoe would be moved.

I think IT2 signed with Phoenix for a lot of obvious reasons:

1 - Bledsoe was swinging in the wind and rumors were the 2 sides were way apart in negotiations

2 - even IF Bledsoe resigned Dragic was about to enter the final season of his contract

3 - FO & Coach & staff are highly respected

4 - location/climate

5 - worst case scenario = 6th Man of the Year candidate on a fun team

In the off-season a resigned Monroe for a resigned Dragic makes some sense for both teams...long way to go yet

IT2 is a backup. Pistons need to concentrate on trying to find players who can be part of their core 8n the future. The team has enough backup quality players (including backup PGs) on the roster already.

3 team deal. Works on trade machine

Brooklyn gets Perkins and Jennings

OKC gets Monroe and Butler

Detroit gets Deron Williams and PJ3 and a 1st rounder from both teams

Brooklyn still remains competitive but gets out from under huge contract

OKC makes a run for the title

Detroit gets a legitimate upgrade at PG and a young SF that could develop into something. We also get two first rounders to help our rebuild. We lose cap space going forward but nobody realistically is signing with us. We become attractive now and will still have a solid 6-8million to sign someone in the summer.

Even better we give OKC Augustin and they give us Reggie Jackson. They then don't give us a 1st. And Brooklyn gives them their 1st.

We end up Deron KCP PJ3 Smith Drummond starting
Reggie Meeks Singler JJ Joel Anthony off the bench

I thought they had one but the hawks have the rights to swap theirs for Brooklyns.

Brooklyn doesn't have any 1st round picks to trade. Not in the near future anyways.

I'd still do this deal with just OKC's first round pick.
