I would love to have Joe Johnson. But with him making a crazy amount I don't want us having to match that in terms of contracts.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Yeh I forgot to say. Joe Johnson is making $23 million this year and 24 the next. That's more than CP, which makes it completely unworkable for us in terms of matching salaries. Lance is making $9 million these next 2 years and has a team option after that. Actually Charlotte is one of the few teams that have the pieces to make a move for Joe Johnson's huge salary.

Like mentioned, Joe Johnson makes $23 million, that's not an option, sorry :(

Raduljica would get the Ekpe Udoh treatment of no minutes, what's the point?

Depending on the deal, Lance to us makes sense, we need another guy that can create, we need his arrogance in a way, he's arrogant, but he hustles and plays defense, we could use that.

the clippers have more important things to do than take on a basket case like lance. why do you think others took a pass on him. I do not see a game changer out there that we could afford. the biggest concern is to keep everyone healthy.

We should have never waived him to begin with. He's way more useful than Ekpe. The Joe Johnson thing was more wishful thinking I guess. I just don't trust our current wing players in the postseason unless they prove me wrong like they did last night vs Pistons

Joe Johnson would be really interesting, but that salary!!! Of course that's the reason he's available in the first place...

I can't see our cap situation working if take on his salary, without giving up something significant on our roster right now. In which case it probably wouldn't be worth it.

If Charlotte basically just wanted to get rid of Lance for shorter contracts I would take a serious look see. But others with more knowledgeable opinions on his game have given some pretty good reasons not to take him. I do think he could add a dynamic element to our offense that is sorely lacking.

Joe Johnson isn't off the table, it just means we would have to include DJ + JJ or JC + Barnes.

Raduljica is a nothing player and will not affect our post-season at all.

If Lance is a good defender I would pursue him, otherwise I'd rather keep Jamal.

OKC have some interesting pieces in Anthony Morrow / Adams / Perkins
SAC have some shooters but no defensive pieces that I can see?

New York Knicks players -- except for Carmelo Anthony -- could be available in trades, according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Would be sad to see Jamal go, would like him to retire with us. Loved what he's brought to this team. Hopefully we can pull off a trade without letting Jamal go.

Celtics' Green Available Along with Rondo

Post#1037 » by Ranma » Wed Dec 17, 2014 11:57 pm

Adrian Wojnarowksi & Marc Spears, Yahoo! Sports (12/17/14)
Boston has been consistently shopping forward Jeff Green, trying to acquire a package that includes a first-round draft pick, sources said. Rondo being available would suggest Celtics general manager Danny Ainge is prepared to undergo a deeper rebuilding project and push harder for the highest possible draft position in the 2015 NBA draft.

Sources: Celtics showing willingness to trade Rajon Rondo

Get Lance Stevenson over here for crying out loud. Doc and CP3 will keep him in line. With his strength and wingspan he can guard the 2 and the 3 positions. His jumper is hit or miss but he can, rebound, drive to the basket, take contact and either draw the foul or dish it off to a big in the paint for a nice finish. Plus on the low he can maybe irritate-get under the skin of a Splash Brother, Draymond Green, Durant, Westbrook, Ginobli, etc.. Some of you guys might not agree with me but we need some attitude and moxie in the worst way possible. I'm sick of this suburban nice guy timid act we've been displaying for the past few years. Time to fight fire with fire.

Corey Brewer Back on the Block

Post#1039 » by Ranma » Thu Dec 18, 2014 4:44 am

Windhorst also reports that Chase Budinger and even the injured Kevin Martin will likely be available.

Marc Stein & Brian Windhorst, ESPN (12/17/14)
Sources told ESPN.com that the Timberwolves, beset with injuries and mired at the foot of the Western Conference with a record of 5-19, are again engaging contending teams in trade discussions for Brewer after making him available in mid-November and then abruptly pulling him off the market.

The Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers, sources said, remain the most interested suitors for Brewer, but have also been joined by the Los Angeles Clippers.
...

Houston and Cleveland remain the best positioned to make a deal because both teams possess an active trade exception large enough to absorb Brewer's $4.7 million salary. But sources say that the Wolves are seeking a future first-round pick in exchange for Brewer, something the Cavaliers are reluctant to surrender.

The Rockets, sources say, hope to sell Minnesota on going through with the swap in exchange for a 2015 second-rounder via New York that the Rockets possess. It's a pick with the potential to be attractive come June given the Knicks' ongoing struggles.
...

The Clippers, by contrast, are handcuffed in any efforts they make to improve their squad. By virtue of spending their full mid-level exception on Spencer Hawes over the summer, L.A. is now subject to the league's $80.8 million hard cap. Sitting less than $800,000 beneath the hard cap, its options are very limited, as league rules preclude them from making any trade or using any exception (trade exception or otherwise) that increases their payroll beyond the hard cap.

To acquire Brewer, in other words, would require the Clippers to send out at least $4 million in salary, which makes finding a workable trade that's attractive for both teams difficult.
