He doesn't have a serious chance to win it, but if the season ended today he'd have to finish in the 5th-7th range. To me that's flirting with being able to call yourself an "MVP Candidate".

Wall has played well in December but for perspective here is the ORTG of some other players on the season;

Curry 120
Lillard 117
Conley 118
Teague 113
Lowry 119
Paul 127

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I dont think he'll get a look-in for MVP

But how about DPOY? He would have to be in the conversation. His defense has gone to a whole new level, and it was already pretty damn good.

Any advanced stats guys in the house? Whats his defensive rating?

It would be great for a guard to win it again.

wall needs a couple 30 pt games to average 20...
if he gets that and averages
20/10 while being top3 in steals
the award is his unless Westbrook keeps his play up
durant goes back into god mode
or the pelicans make the playoffs
lebron wont get it this year because irving has been playing exceptional
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

He has a better chance of winning MVP than DPOY. Andrew Bogut has completely run away with the DPOY award so far. And there is no clear front runner for MVP.

Right now, if Wall keeps up his pace over this first quarter of the season and the Wizards get close to 60 wins and finish as the one or two seed, he will finish well in MVP voting. He wouldn't beat out Steph Curry for the award, but he'd finish top 5 in the voting.

Anthony Davis will get votes but he has zero chance of winning MVP. The award only goes to the leaders of one and two seeds.

The last time an MVP went to a player from a team that didn't finish as a one or two seed was Michael Jordan in '87-'88. That was the greatest individual season by a perimeter player in league history. And Chicago finished as the three seed.

If the Wizards remain the two seed, Wall has a much better chance at winning MVP than Davis.

Westbrook has been sensational in the 11 games he's been back. But that's still less than half the minutes Curry, Paul, and Wall have played.

He doesn't deserve to be ranked ahead of them so far this season.

Durability matters. I don't care if you're the best player of all time if you're playing half the time.

Zeke is a joke.

One more piece of evidence showing why Isiah was such a **** GM.

Zeke's list is nonsense. I don't agree with Greg Anthony's either, but it's better than Zeke's.

Big stretch of games coming up for Wall:

@MIA: Miami could be a .500 team again after Wednesday's game versus the Jazz, it would be nice to get a solid road win considering that our Milwaukee (who are 13-10 against non-Wizards teams) game is probably are only decent road win so far this season.

PHX: A team that is 12-14 that sold probably be 14-12 (in their current 6 game slide they've lost two games where they were leading but beat by ridiculous buzzer beating threes). This game also marks quite the defensive test for Wall having to go up against PHX three-headed monster of Thomas, Dragic, and Bledsoe.

CHI: So many things going for this game: (1) first regular season match-up since the playoffs, (2) Wall v. Rose, and (3) an opportunity to get our second win against a top EC squad. Chicago is a very good road team at 11-4 (4-5 at home), so this looks to be a big test.

Isiah's list is ridiculous because:

a. I love Tony Parker, but he is not number one
b. Kyrie at 4 is laughable, just no
c. You can't include Rose in your top 5, he hasn't don anything in the last 3+ years to warrant a spot there
d. No Wall/Kyle is

Only flaw I see in Anthony's list is that he oddly left out Chris Paul.

But you could make the argument - and IF he is good the rest of the season, he would need to be in the discussion with Wall, Curry and Paul - IMO.
