Would love. Not a fan of his apparent philosophy of not have DBs turn to look for the ball (do you seriously not realize how many cheap PI calls that's going to get you?) but what he did with the defense this year (outside Ohio State) basically replacing the entire front 7 and having them play as well as they did was great.

Press conference this afternoon, reports are saying the deal is done. Now it's all about keeping the class together and building a staff.

We can debate whether there may have been better candidates but this was done quickly and he's not going anywhere for awhile. Two positives.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Sounds like Aranda may be staying. Nothing certain yet.

Even Aranda knows Oregon St. is a step down.

Or he doesn't trust Andersen.

Who are some of the best Badgers reporters to follow on Twitter? I just watched the Chryst press conference and checked my newsfeed afterwords and don't have one tweet with someone reporting on what he had to say.

Jeff Potrykus agreed. Interesting timeline from his twitter link:

Nov. 30: Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst, a former UW administrator, fires head coach Bo Pelini.

Dec. 4: Mike Riley, head coach at Oregon State and a close friend of Chryst, stuns observers by leaving the Pacific 12 to replace Pelini at Nebraska.

Dec. 9: UW coach Gary Andersen interviews for the job at Oregon State, three days after UW's 59-0 loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten title game.

Dec. 10: Andersen informs UW athletic director Barry Alvarez and the UW players and coaches he is leaving for Oregon State.

Dec. 11: One day after saying he is prepared to move quickly to hire a quality coach, Alvarez meets with Chryst in Florida to discuss the UW opening. According to a source close to the UW program, both men leave the meeting confident Chryst will return to his alma mater.

Dec. 17: Chryst, 49, is introduced as UW's 30th head football coach.

Love the Chryst/Aranda combo. This is pretty much the best case scenario I had in my mind once GA moved on. Both sides of the ball are in good hands.
