Lakers offer picks+Nash for Rondo

Post#1 » by Mamba Mentality » Thu Dec 18, 2014 7:24 pm

The Lakers have offered multiple picks and Steve Nash's expiring contract to the Celtics for Rajon Rondo, according to sources.

No surprise here. Unfortunately we're probably going to be on the outside looking in...

One interesting tidbit I read was that most of Nash's salary is paid by insurance. I guess it makes him more appealing for teams that are really trying to save money.

We need to stop being naive and trading away picks for no reason.

Win-win. We won't have a better offer than Dallas + our FA pitch to him will be we've always been interested and tried to acquire you mid-season, but didn't have enough to offer the Celtics.

I am glad to hear we are in the mix... You never know... Gotta believe Celtics want Randle though... I hope this trade goes through and we have a reason to believe this year... I would think having Rondo would increase the chances of getting Love...

Do it Mitch...

Boston's starting lineup's gonna be so amazing next year:

PG: 2015 Clippers 1st
SG: 2016 Brooklyn 1st
SF: 2015 Philly 2nd
PF: 2016 Cleveland 1st
C: 2018 Brooklyn 1st

Championship.

I really don't even know how we're even offering this type of package to the Celtics. We're going to have no draft picks for years...

Well one of the picks comes from Houston and then the other could be a second rounder so doesn't really matter.

The thing that people don't understand is that if you don't get Rondo now, you've lost your shot at him. If he goes to Dallas or Houston he re-signs.

The other benefit of getting him now is that free agents will be more intrigued by a team with Rondo + Kobe then a team of Kobe + scrubs.

The Lakers inquired about a deal Thursday that would send forward Jordan Hill and a first-round pick to the Celtics for Rondo and forward Jeff Green, but the Celtics declined that offer, a person familiar with the details told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the private nature of trade talks.

That was a pretty good deal for us if the offer went through. I like Jeff Green. Not sure what the offer was for the 3 way to go through.

Man, that's a great deal for Dallas, IMO.

Solving their obvious weakness at PG for Wright, Crowder, and a 1st? Yes, please.

Not sure if Hill was just resting or if the deal was close enough to sit him out.

Lock it up. Seems like Rondo to the Mavericks is a done deal.

Wright has been really good though. They'd need a back up center now and I think that's where they plugged us in as a 3rd team. I'd be annoyed if we rejected Hill for Dallas pick.

Jordan had a upper respiratory infection, he didn't practice yesterday also.
