The trade is more of a reflection on Rondo rather than Ainge.

For sure, but the same applies to anyone saying this was a great trade imo

I absolutely agree with that.

It's pretty bad trade, but that's where Rondo's value at this point is. Ainge's mistake was waiting til this season to trade him. Should have moved him at the deadline last year.

Oh well, I bet Jeff Green brings back more than Rondo.

He tried, no one would bite. Rondo had an ACL tear, no one wanted him.

Yeah, fire him. He only gave you Rondo in the first place, a title, and now 10 furs trouble picks to rebuild your franchise.

Yeah, he's some kind of joke.

Haha

Danny's made his whole career off one title....one in which he got a big favor done for him by one Kevin McHale.

Other than that, what in the hell has he done to put this franchise closer to Banner 18?

He sure as hell wasn't getting PP,KG and RA more help while they still had gas in the tank. The 2009 and 2010 teams lacked rebounding and Ainge never truly tried to address that weakness and it cost that core additional titles.

Now he's gone full rebuild and started out by drafting a tweener forward who can't play amongst the trees and a long haired hippie that's as soft as Brad Lohaus.

Overpaid for a tweener 2 that can't shoot and drafted the same type of player in Smart, who can defend but can't shoot.

Somewhere, Red Auerbach is laughing at this "supposed" GM.

Has anyone a tank signature for me?

Might have been better to just let him walk in the off season but I get the feeling the team were not that keen on the idea of him being around in that situation while they are trying to work towards the future.

How would letting him walk for nothing have been better than this? Regardless if this was just a 2nd round pick?

If we had no plans to re-sign Rondo getting the best possible thing you could get for him was the way to go even if it was as average as this package is.

We got a late 1st rounder for Rondo. So basically, we'd be lucky to get a rotation player out of those picks. Ainge flat out lost.

Cuban completely **** him sideways in this deal. We got a 28 year old role player and hopeful rotation players for our 4 time all star. He waited to long to deal Rondo and got a bag a **** for him, plain and simple.

I agree. The Trade by itself looks bad, but its Ainge fault for waiting too long to deal him. He should have traded Rondo last season.

Is Jameer going to be waived? He has a player option next year and we have one too many players...

He trade raped the Nets....I mean the guy traded Perkins for Jeff Green, and even traded Jordan Crawford away - he's a pretty damn good GM. He was also the guy who drafted Rondo in the first place...and Rondo was like the 21st pick.

Ainge is one of the best GMs in the league. People here just get too emotional with these players, Rondo was never that great of a player. The Mavericks won't have a super high draft pick like people are saying either.

How would you know that?

Odds are that Ainge was asking for too much for Rondo last season.

You do realize Rondo was drafted in the 20s? And now, he wasn't anything more than a rotation player.

Not a great trade but from what I can see they were at an impasse with rondo. Clearly he wants a max contract and the celtics were not going to give it to him.

It's a shame the celtics could not get an impact players instead of another heap of underwhelming players.

The only fault here is he didn't get traded a while once KG and Pierce were gone and his value was higher. Held on too long.
