Yeah, fire him. He only gave you Rondo in the first place, a title, and now 10 furs trouble picks to rebuild your franchise.

Yeah, he's some kind of joke.

Haha

Danny's made his whole career off one title....one in which he got a big favor done for him by one Kevin McHale.

Other than that, what in the hell has he done to put this franchise closer to Banner 18?

He sure as hell wasn't getting PP,KG and RA more help while they still had gas in the tank. The 2009 and 2010 teams lacked rebounding and Ainge never truly tried to address that weakness and it cost that core additional titles.

Now he's gone full rebuild and started out by drafting a tweener forward who can't play amongst the trees and a long haired hippie that's as soft as Brad Lohaus.

Overpaid for a tweener 2 that can't shoot and drafted the same type of player in Smart, who can defend but can't shoot.

Somewhere, Red Auerbach is laughing at this "supposed" GM.

Three first round picks in 2015 plus the 31st pick from Philly, two first round picks in 2016 and 2018 and somewhere in the vicinity of $25 million in cap space next off season, possibly more depending on other moves.

We got a late 1st rounder for Rondo. So basically, we'd be lucky to get a rotation player out of those picks. Ainge flat out lost.

Cuban completely **** him sideways in this deal. We got a 28 year old role player and hopeful rotation players for our 4 time all star. He waited to long to deal Rondo and got a bag a **** for him, plain and simple.

You do realize Rondo was drafted in the 20s? And now, he wasn't anything more than a rotation player.

Cases like Rondo aren't the norm, there is a much higher chance of a draft pick in the 20's being out of the league in a few years than becoming a multiple time all star. Ainge is a good drafter, but you have to get quite lucky to get anyone serviceable in that range.

Whoever says the bolded should honestly have their basketball card revoked. It's such a nauseating statement that is completely false and unfounded. Such an aggravating statement.

Maybe that's the point (no pun intended) to hurt our record for this year and improve our own draft pick.

I guess Faverani will be cut, and probably Thornton, Green and Bass traded sooner than later, but so far you got this,

Smart-Nelson-Pressey
Bradley-Thornton-Young
Green-Turner-Crowder-Wallace
Sullinger-Bass-Wright
Zeller-Olynyk-Faverani

How long have posters here been pointing out there is no trade market for PGs.

We're in the age of PGs, almost every team has a good one.

The best part about this trade will be the extra losses we accrue giving us a higher chance to win the lottery.

We started rebuilding last year, and we're not going to stop for at least a few more years.

The worst thing that could of come from the Rondo situation was reuping him for 5 more years at a near max contract as he continues to regress and kill this franchise.

Let the new era begin.

Let's not rate this trade down because of the return. This is probably about how much other teams value Rondo. So when it was reported that the Lakers offered a first, another pick, and Hill for Rondo, we can see that what the Celtics ended up with is about level with the other rumors. Posters laughed at that being unrealistically bad for Boston. Well, you should have tempered your expectations a bit when that type of offer starts being reported.

This isn't pre-injury Rondo. The Celtics got the kind of value that he is worth. That being said, should the Celtics have not traded him in the first place? That's a different discussion. But that doesn't make this trade "bad." It's fair.

The return wasn't great, but I'm sure we'll find out over the next few days when other deals get their details leaked out that it was probably on par with all the others, despite some of the speculative deals forum posters came up with.

Best of luck to Rondo and the Mavs. I hope they do really well

I tend to agree with this. I was wishing for a 2017 pick from Dallas, but I guess the market for Rondo was even more tepid than I had expected. I'm glad, too, that he's headed to Dallas - I really like that team. Rondo will be a monster with all those scorers around him.

Yeah, that's the thing to keep in mind-- Danny put up the FOR SALE sign over Rondo this week. Everyone told him their best offers. Given Rondo's ability to leave at the end of the season regardless of whether he stayed here or went to another team, and given his scoring woes and FT-shooting woes, and defensive woes, this was the best choice out of a lot of "meh" choices given to Danny. You can only get what a player is worth to everyone else. It doesn't matter whether Danny had a hard-on for Rondo personally and thought he farts rainbows. The only crappy part is that his value was at least slightly higher before he tore his ACL, and it's a shame we didn't just pull the trigger back then, since trading him was the likely outcome of his career in green. Trading for Love and all the other ideas were pipe dreams and we know it.

So what are we going to do with all these picks? Don't have room for that many rookies.

It was something or nothing, Danny wasn't going to pay Rondo the max, and he wasn't going to let him walk for nothing. Nba watches Danny do a solid for rondo putting him on a contender on his way out. Danny did damn good and he's not done yet.

Rondo could have signed before this happened....

He didn't.....

All you Rondo fans can now rest assured that Rajon will get his MAX CONTRACT from Mark Cuban....

He's got the bucks....

You guys should all be happy now?
