It's a bit OT, but I disagree. Had Cleveland not inexplicably won the lottery again, I think there is a reasonable chance we could have gotten Love.

May get one too. Never did for some reason.

The return wasn't great, but I'm sure we'll find out over the next few days when other deals get their details leaked out that it was probably on par with all the others, despite some of the speculative deals forum posters came up with.
Best of luck to Rondo and the Mavs. I hope they do really well
I tend to agree with this. I was wishing for a 2017 pick from Dallas, but I guess the market for Rondo was even more tepid than I had expected. I'm glad, too, that he's headed to Dallas - I really like that team. Rondo will be a monster with all those scorers around him.
Yeah, that's the thing to keep in mind-- Danny put up the FOR SALE sign over Rondo this week. Everyone told him their best offers. Given Rondo's ability to leave at the end of the season regardless of whether he stayed here or went to another team, and given his scoring woes and FT-shooting woes, and defensive woes, this was the best choice out of a lot of "meh" choices given to Danny. You can only get what a player is worth to everyone else. It doesn't matter whether Danny had a hard-on for Rondo personally and thought he farts rainbows. The only crappy part is that his value was at least slightly higher before he tore his ACL, and it's a shame we didn't just pull the trigger back then, since trading him was the likely outcome of his career in green. Trading for Love and all the other ideas were pipe dreams and we know it.

We're in the age of PGs, almost every team has a good one.
The best part about this trade will be the extra losses we accrue giving us a higher chance to win the lottery.
We started rebuilding last year, and we're not going to stop for at least a few more years.
The worst thing that could of come from the Rondo situation was reuping him for 5 more years at a near max contract as he continues to regress and kill this franchise.
Let the new era begin.

Soon to be free agent Jrue Holiday got a lottery pick ... Rondo couldn't even get a top 20 pick
