Kyrie/Amundson for Avery Bradley/Smart/Olynyk

Post#1 » by Bubstubbler » Fri Dec 19, 2014 12:38 am

C's surely covet a young superstar franchise-cornerstone type player and get one in Irving. Amundson is salary filler.

Cavs get 3 nice and useful players in return, improve their defense, and may also get more productivity out of Waiters as a result. Maybe Waiters/Bradley would be the new backcourt, with Bradley always taking the tougher defensive assignment at guard and being the catch/shoot guy, while Waiters gets to be more of a playmaker like he'd prefer to be, but can't be with Irving and LeBron dominating the ball so much. I like the offense/defense potential of a Waiters/Bradley/Smart trio at the guard spots.

Waiters/Smart/Delly
Bradley/(Waiters)
LeBron
Love/TT/Marion
Varejao/Olynyk

Then maybe Waiters/Memphis pick/Haywood for MGasol this summer (maybe if Gasol were to demand it), giving the Cavs a core like this next year:

Smart
Bradley
LeBron
Love/TT
MGasol/Varejao/Olynyk

Cavs, who are contending, also like their franchise cornerstone type player. Their fans will not be kind to you.

Whatever. Cavs have high hopes and trading Kyrie for a nice group that are barely STARTERS.. ain't likely. waiters as a No Pass PG? NOT apt to happen. Somehow turning Waiters and "whatever" into M Gasol... sure to not happen.

Cavs will not have huge cap $..and Griz won't trade Gasol for Waiters.
CENSORED... No comment.

We've seen what happens when Kyrie has to carry a team by himself. I don't want any part of him doing that for the Celtics. Especially not as a 20 million a year guy, which he will be soon. I'd rather let Smart develop and do the rebuild. No short cuts by grabbing a guy like Irving.

In addition, I don't think the Cavs wants to downgrade from their big three that they have built. The Cavs will be fine. The Heat started out slowly too. When you turn over the vast majority of a roster, it will take around 30-40 games to come together. Cleveland will be fine.

Should we also try trading Lebron to Utah for Exam and enes kanter?

I think Utah would love to have a franchise cornerstone like Lebron

At least get the facts right, his extension will pay him $14.7 next season, and $19.2 four seasons after that.

Yes, cause $20M is so far off from $19.2M.

Anyway, no way Cleveland would do this. They are trying to win in the now and future.

And I don't think this fits what Boston is doing now either.

Until the Cap jumps way up and his salary increases along with it. Remember, extensions like Kyrie's are a % of the Cap, not a fixed number. His salary is likely to be up over 20 by the end of the deal.

Yeah Kyries contract is pretty bad, could be reasonable if it was a fixed amount.

Agreed. Too early for this. Wait until May when the Cavs are watching the good teams play on TV, longing for perimeter defense and a rim protector.

In July Kyrie is no longer poison pilled and is easier to move. Also Haywood magic contract needs to be traded by August 1st so he can be cut. At that point something like Irving and Haywood for Hibbert and Hill becomes tenable.

That couldn't be any further from reasonable.
