the white claw on raptors.com is more likely our new direction...I don't even mind our current colors...black and white can get too plain...if they want to look tough I am guessing our black jerseys with the last names greyed out is the way to go they cant change the red to white, silver or grey

There's so much potential in designing a great logo when your name is the "Raptors".... not so much for the Nets.

Brooklyn has that simple, plain logo because their name is the NETS.

We are the RAPTORS. We should have a RAPTOR LOGO.

IMO The whole Dinosaur genre is so rich in vivid imagery (bones, claws, teeth, tails, jungle, volcanoes, footprints) that I really feel they missed an opportunity on this one.

Plain can be nice but they didn't go plain enough.

Complex can be nice but they didn't go complex enough.

The demographic purchasing this stuff is used to off-the-wall artwork and designs. They grew up with artistic barriers broken, intense colour patterns and pop-culture smash-ups. A place like Toronto, even the corporate culture can handle something a bit more bold.

I think if you remove Drake's pop power and clout (if that's who is behind this), you're honestly left with what kind of resembles a jr. designer's first draft of a brainstorming session. It's not horrific, but just very underwhelming for a team that deserves more. At first glance on twitter I thought some fan art got confused with their real branding attempts. At second glance it looks like a jr high school basketball team logo. It's nothing personal, just my honest thoughts when looking at it.

I mean, the team is so popular, you could pretty much put out anything and it will sell. As this will.

I don't pretend to have all the answers in the design world but I know I could certainly provide many Fresher concepts than this if given some time. I can just feel it, you know?

I gotta book me some time end of January for concept work...

The logo looks fine, it just needs some touch-ups, I hope black/gold aren't the color scheme other wise. I like Drake, but I want Raptors and OVO to be separate.

I pictured the next logo to be the dino head with a basket ball in it's mouth. Since we have covered claws, whole body shot already.

would be fine if it didn't mirror a lot of what the nets rebrand did as has been mentioned a 100 times.

Also on the uni please just get rid of the chevrons on the side.
