Bucs Lead Up

Post#1 » by humanrefutation » Wed Dec 17, 2014 10:10 pm

We picked our playoff captains already. Kind of reminds me of when McCarthy had players get their rings sized before the Super Bowl.

Makes sense. Even though we are not eliminated with a loss on Sunday we need to win out to win the SB, And even though we haven't always done well when getting a first round bye I'll take the road to the Super Bowl that includes having to win one less game every time.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm getting dizzy trying to remember all of these playoff scenarios. Just win baby.

I expect a statement game after that debacle in Buffalo. This is a team we need to crush if we want to feel better about our chances on the road in a potential NFC Championship game.

It would be nice to blow out the Bucs. Win something like 45-3. Build some confidence going into the Lions game.

They have to destroy them. Just watch out for Evans and Jackson. Rush 4 and drop 7 to start and see if that works.

Injuries...

Bryan Bulaga (concussion) questionable
Davon House (shoulder) out
Eddie Lacy (eye) probable
T.J. Lang (ankle) probable
Clay Matthews (biceps) probable
Mike Neal (abdomen) probable
Nick Perry (shoulder) probable
Josh Sitton (toe) probable

On Bulaga... As we say in here all of the time, you’re either a part of the protocol or you’re not a part of the protocol. He’s still in it, and he’s making progress.

On turnover focus... I think last week’s the first time we lost the turnover ratio in a long time. It’ll definitely be a focus this week, and it’s always a focus when you play against Lovie because Lovie’s teams have always done a very good job of taking the ball away.

On JC Tretter's progress... JC’s been getting a lot of reps throughout practice, both inside and outside. He obviously had a lot of reps this week with Bryan not participating. So he’s getting better. I think anytime you have a player that plays multiple positions, particularly in JC’s case where he missed a lot of time being on PUP, I think he’s getting better each and every week, and this is exactly what he needs. It was good for him to play against Buffalo, and we’ll see if we can get him some more time this week.

On House... We'll see how next week goes. Dr. McKenzie feels good about the progress he's making.

On Tretter... JC's a heck of a football player. I think he showed that just based on what he accomplished in the spring all the way through training camp, going out and establishing himself as the starting center. Now, to come back off of his injury and being able to play guard, center and tackle I think speaks volumes. He put together some very good plays. It’s definitely something I look for him to improve on but, yeah, we feel good about where JC is right now.

On the safeties... Morgan Burnett, I think, A, Morgan’s probably having one of his best years performance-wise but I think it speaks volumes about Morgan Burnett being voted one of your team captains. I think that tells you what his peers think of him. Really, the connection that he has with his teammates, especially the safety position in our defense, there’s a ton of communication that goes on. His leadership is something that’s been growing each and every week. He’s having a heck of a year, I think Micah’s a year better and obviously Sean Richardson’s a year better and having Ha Ha here, he’s done well.

On Burnett's leadership... He’s gone about it the right way. He’s earned it and he’s done it by example. He’s always had that presence. You could see that from Day 1. Yeah, I’m glad to see his credibility rise in the locker room.

On Jarrett Boykin... Had the injury, a little setback there. Davante's come on. I think he’s been consistent. I think you have to look at his whole body of work. You have to recognize what he’s done on special teams. He’s not getting as many opportunities as he did last year, and I think that’s a part of the opportunities that have been presented to Davante.

Anything less here will be very disappointing and a poor omen, especially with them missing McCoy. If Evans and Jackson go off it'll be even more disappointing; even a 35-24 win or so against this team will not particularly inspire confidence.

They better dominate on all 3 phases sunday. Each unit has something to prove.

This is why I threw $500 on GB to cover Tuesday afternoon when the line was -11. -12.5 now - money on GB, this game is going to be a blowout.

The Green Bay Packers offensive line will likely start together as a unit for a 15th straight week.

On Saturday, the team upgraded Bryan Bulaga (concussion) to "probable" for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay. Speaking on Friday, Bulaga sounded optimistic, noting he had passed all necessary tests to date. On Saturday, he apparently cleared the final hurdle needed.

Bulaga wanted to get some work in Saturday with the line as a whole in preparation for the Bucs.

"It's something I think I need throughout the week just for repetition and timing and fundamental work," Bulaga said then. "If I could get in tomorrow I'd love to get all cleared, and I could do that tomorrow."

Deff want to see a statement game tomorrow after last week but I have a hard time picking the Packers to dominate on the road, even against a team like the Bucs.

Tomorrow is so huge for our Super Bowl hopes, not just our game obviously but that Arizona Seattle game will have a huge impact on our chances. If we dominate tomorrow and have a shot at the #2 seed next week with a possible match up with Seattle being at Lambeau my confidence in this team having a shot at the Super Bowl will be greatly restored. My confidence has been torn to shreds after last week with how the Packers looked and a possible match up with Seattle now likely in Seattle.

Ironically the only possible way the Packers can stay alive for the #1 seed is if Seattle wins tomorrow,A Seattle win tomorrow and then if Seattle and Arizona both lose week 17 we'd be the #1 seed if we win our last 2.

So if Seattle wins tomorrow I guess all hope still isn't lost, crazier things have happened in the NFL.But I'd deff rather see Arizona pull it out tomorrow and give us some hope and peace of mind for the time being, plus a Seattle loss tomorrow keeps the possibility alive that Seattle could miss the playoffs all together if they lose week 17.
