Good for him. I think he has a chance to be like Bo Ryan, though maybe not at Wisconsin.

Very cool. Can't wait to see where he has that program in 4 years.

I think it was Bruce Feldman that called this over a month ago. I honestly thought his jump to D1 would have been for a bit more prestigious position.

I wish him nothing but the best, but honestly, I'm not sure that's the right move to make. I'm sure it's a nice pay raise and it is a D1 program. But at the same time, he's going from being a part of a monster program with complete job security to joining a below average program in the MAC with no loyalty to rely on while he tries to build the program. It could be a step forward that results in a step back in his D1 aspirations if it doesn't work out. I almost think it would have made more sense becoming a high paid coordinator at a big time D1 program for a couple years before making the leap to a better program.

Why would you think that? He's still only a D-III coach. Bo Ryan had to go to UWM before he got the Wisconsin job. Leipold is going to have to go through Buffalo before he gets a sniff of a power 5 job.

That's often not how it works in college football. I remember Malzahn getting hired at Arkansas as their OC when he was a high school coach. Jim Tressell went from 1-AA to Ohio State.

I'm not saying Leipold could go from Whitewater to Michigan, but a coordinator at a good program or a HC at a bad one like Minnesota once Kill takes the Nebraska job would make sense to me.

I'm guessing you are just trolling with that Minnesota comment, but I'll bite. No B1G program is going to hire a D-III coach. Buffalo is a great opportunity for Leipold and clearly the best offer he's had, otherwise he wouldn't be going there.

The only other offer Leipold really had going was the Montana HC position. This Buffalo gig will be good for him and if he does well he can move on to bigger things.

Good job for him, I hope he does well. There's nothing else he can do in D3.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Congrats to my school UW-Whitewater on it's 6th championship in 8 years.

Leipold has as many championships as he does losses.

It's a great day to be a warhawk!

Been a crazy run for the entire athletic department.
