Yeah... en español. I've been aiming to get better with audio Spanish. My reading is nearing a comfortable intermediate level, but my audio perception is awful as of now. Not to mention that I am a history junkie, so why not kill two birds with one stone? I'll probably watch some more episodes over next two days off (and aim to buying some Pimsleur)...

Anyone watch Arrow? What an amazing show. I've missed every game the last couple weeks because every evening after class/gym I used to binge watch as many episodes as I could. Phenomenonal storytelling, action and overall feel.

It's got everything. Insanely badass male lead, a troop of smoking girls competing for female lead (who can actually act) and the villains get better and better. It's like watching the Nolan Batmans on TV.

I do, one episode so far and I'm disappointed, because it looks like soft fantasy (for example "blind master" - WTF?!), while I was expecting something like HBO's "Rome".

I couldn't disagree more. It's really bad show, with poor acting and storyline.

By the way can any of the lifters here recommend a good hypertrophy based routine?

I'm thinking of getting off the simple 3xweek full body SS type routine I was on. My back hates me now for squatting 3xweek and I honestly do not ever see myself competing in powerlifting so I'm not interested in deadlifting 4 plates or anything like that.

I was thinking of something like this:

Seems like a good step onward from SS. I'm definitely strong enough now to lift weight thay will actually make a difference (even if I'm not strong by powerlifting standards) and this seems in line with my goals of just pure aesthetics.

Agree about Hundred Eyes. I don't get the point of making him blind, he's still a badass monk either way.

It's not the greatest show, there are some flaws. But I like it. I'm not a big fan of the actor playing Polo, but the guy playing Kublai Khan is pretty great. They should've made him the main character with Polo as a sort of observer/guider for the audience.

About half way through the series, it seemed like maybe we'd actually get some hard evidence that he didn't do it. As you get closer to the end, it was more clear that there wouldn't be any definitive conclusion. That said, I think it's hard to not be disappointed by the final episode anyway. And maybe that's just because Serial was so gripping, and then... that's it.

Do I think he did it? I'd like to say no, because If he did do it, he does a disturbingly well job at coming off as innocent. There was seemingly too much noise at the trial to convict him, and Jay's story had a lot of holes. I kept coming back to what seemed to be a lie about the call from the payphone at best buy. Then in the last ep, she mentions how the blueprint for the store did show a payphone inside, but that's still not definite.

You know there isn't a TD thread on this board (at least I don't think there is one) and I am not going to start one if there isn't one already because it's not going to receive that much traffic IMO but he's easily the best player since MJ IMO. For all the talk about Kobe/LeBron/Shaq in the post-MJ era, dude just goes about his business and just watching him have two monster games this week even though the Spurs lost was an absolute joy.

I go back and forth. Like you said, it seems like too much cognitive dissonance to think Adnan did it considering everything about his personality and the way he's so staunchly maintained his innocence. I really don't know, but what I do know is that he never in a million years should have been found guilty of first degree murder in the legal sense. I'd like to think Adnan didn't do it, but there's really no other good suspect. I get that a lot of people think Jay did it, and he's shady as hell, but making the leap to him killing Hae just doesn't make sense to me either. It's really difficult to ascribe him a motive without going down the rabbit hole of some crazy conspiracy. But then, he did help bury the body, which was absurd. Gah, I have no idea, there's so much to think about. Just typing this post is making me crazy.

As to the podcast itself, I thought it was more gripping at the beginning. There were some lulls in the latter episodes, but I thought the last 2 episodes were very good. I wish there was a more concrete ending, and I think Sarah did too, but there really was no way she was going to solve this thing all by herself and I can forgive her for that. Ultimately, she gave us a great show and raised public awareness of the case and some flaws in our legal system which need patching. plus, she got the Innocence Project on the case, and it looks like they're finallygoing to get the DNA tested.

Looks like things are headed in the right direction at least. Really fun show, and thought-provoking too. It's crazy to think about normal things in my life and how they could be used against me in a case like this. Guess I'll have to be more careful

Well I realize I missed the introduction phase by several months, but I figured if Moonbeam can do his I can do mine. I figure I've been around here enough lately that people might actually care who I am.

Born and raised in Chicago, I'll be 22 years old in about 3 weeks. I spent my freshman and sophomore years at Indiana University, but had to duck when I realized paying $50K a year for an undergrad degree wasn't worth it. Loved the atmosphere there, and I wish I could've stayed, but I've got a future to consider, ya know? So I moved back to my hometown, currently going to a cheap state school to finish my degree. I'm double majoring in Chemistry and Psychology and assist in the Psych research lab at my university. Planning to get right into medical school right after I graduate. I've wanted to be a physician at least since I was 10, and the more I've learned about the profession as I grew the more convinced I became. I'm a total science nerd, and I think the human body is totally rad. And I'm really thankful I have the talent to pursue something like this and fulfill my dream.

I'm a pretty shy/reserved guy in my personal life (probably a good trait given my proclivity to research labs and studying), not the type of guy to spend the weekends partying. I'm a big reader, currently working on the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series; other favorites include Freakonomics and anything by Dickens. My all-time favorite show is Community (the GOAT, inarguably. Give it a shot). It's also where the quote in my sig is from. Also love Arrested Development, Lost, and Sunny in Philadelphia.

Started playing basketball in 7th grade, but never really reached my potential in school because I was the tallest guy on the team and thus was shoehorned into playing Center despite my tiny frame and poor footwork. I'm a 6'4" (in shoes) 170 pound white guy, so I had to make my living on the perimeter. These days I play the 2/3, and I specialize in a Goran Dragic type slashing game. Decent shooter, okay playmaker, great foul-drawer, sometimes make the most bone-headed plays you've ever seen. I play pickup and a few tournaments, hoping to get into a rec league over the summer.

I started watching the NBA seriously circa 2005, and naturally the Suns and Mavs became my favorite teams instantly. Dirk is still my favorite player, and I'm making a point to see him play in person before he retires. Grew up watching the Bulls in the mid-90s, I was a very emotional fan for a 3 year old . I've kind of outgrown my fanhood by now, in a process remarkably similar to what Zach Lowe describes here: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-l ... of-fandom/ I just enjoy watching every team and every player too much to really have an emotional attachment to any particular team. These days I watch ball when I can and spend too much time on RealGM. Maybe I'll consider getting into writing at some point, if it's in the cards.

The most important thing I do, bar far, is my volunteer work. Every summer, winter, and sporadically in between, I work as a counselor at a camp for children with cancer. It's the most rewarding experience I've ever had, and words can't even describe how meaningful this place is to me. It's a place I've met my best friends, a place I've fallen in love, and a place that I've laughed and cried at more than any other. Cancer sounds like a drag, but I assure you that every summer there is the most fun I've ever had in my life. We play sports, go swimming, camp out, and do basically everything under the sun to give these kids an experience they couldn't otherwise have with their medical issues. Which is the worst NBA body+athleticism do you think you could play in the NBA with? You would keep your basketball skills + mentality.

Let's start from the top. Would Wilt or Shaq's body + athleticism be enough for you to play in the NBA? No need to be a star, 10-12 minutes per game will do. What about David Robinson? Or some perimeter player like Jordan or Lebron? Do you think you could give some team some useful minutes? Maybe just by being a good defensive player or hustler?

Is someone here who thinks he could be an NBA player with Earl Boykins' body?

Personally, I think I would have to go with some athletic big man, like Wilt or Robinson, so I could be somewhat useful on defense. I don't think I could play in the perimeter, no matter which body I had.

So yeah, maybe with the GOAT NBA body, some NBA team would find it interesting to play me some minutes.
