Game 27: Milwaukee (14-12) @ LA Clippers (18-8)

Post#1 » by og15 » Sun Dec 21, 2014 2:41 am

Saturday December 20th, 7:30pm PST / 10:30pm ET

It's hard when you put yourself in (a 16-point) hole and fight so hard and expend so much energy to get back into it and lose it in the end," Griffin told the team's official website.

They'll try to bounce back by extending their run at home ahead of road tests at San Antonio and Atlanta early next week. Los Angeles has won the past six home matchups with the Bucks and 13 of the last 14.

Milwaukee (14-13), however, will attempt to replicate its effort from last Saturday's 111-106 home victory. It shot a season-high 56.6 percent and limited the Clippers to 42.9 percent while holding Griffin and Paul to 10 points apiece.

Griffin missed eight of 12 shots and Paul missed 10 of 15 while committing six turnovers. Griffin has averaged 26.0 points on 58.8 percent shooting in his past four home meetings, but Paul has scored 11.4 in his last five overall.

"We gave them different looks and, again, one shot," coach Jason Kidd said after the game. "When Griffin misses a shot, (DeAndre) Jordan is normally around the rim cleaning it up. We just tried to make it tough on those guys."

Redick Needs

Post#2 » by Ranma » Sun Dec 21, 2014 2:51 am

I missed the game against the Nuggets, but from what I saw of the boxscore, the team was particularly hurt by the lack of bench contribution as well as J.J. Redick's subpar numbers. Redick needs to not only start off well but sustain it throughout the game, which he has a tendency of not doing. He really needs to work on his effective stamina.

JJ has the same problem as Jamal. If they aren't scoring then they are just being liabilities on the defensive end. When games are close in the 4th and JJ & JC aren't shooting well, I hate it when Doc still goes small and plays both of them. I'd much rather Bullock, CDR or Barnes to provide some D and rely more on Blake/CP for points.

Great start for both JJ and Dudley. The Bucks are shooting 64%.

Red-Hot Redick and Doc's Dudley Dump

I thought J.J. had four 3-pointers but the ESPN box score currently has him shooting 4-6 FG and 3-4 3PT with 1 assist and 1 steal (as well as 1 charge taken). Hopefully, he can extend this effectiveness to the subsequent three quarters.

It still burns me to think that Rivers traded a future first-round pick in order to dump the last year of Jared Dudley's contract for Ekpe Udoh and Chris Douglas-Roberts. Admittedly, I like both Udoh and CDR more than Dudley but they haven't contributed much of anything for us thus far and even Dudley could have at least matched that.

still got no defense and still can't keep leads.

I don't see it happening with this unit. we are a great offensive team and when everything is clicking, we can beat anybody but without consistent strong defense we will never be able to beat teams we are supposed to beat. I think a trade is unfortunately, long overdue.

If you count Bullock as an SG then Doc is playing a 4 Guard lineup.

Comparison Game

The Clippers bench reminds me of the Dodgers' 2014 bullpen, which can't provide effective innings (productive playing time). The Dodgers' at least have a good closer in Kenley Jansen while the Clippers don't really have an equivalent on their bench (bullpen).

Judging by how Dudley is playing tonight, we got the bad end of that deal. We are impatient though and I think all of us Clipper fans wanted dudley gone.

No Beard

I guess we don't have an equivalent for Brian "The Beard" Wilson unless you consider the injured Spencer Hawes since they both have had to deal with injuries recently. The difference is that Hawes is still valued while Wilson was dumped despite a $9.5 million contract commitment.

Jordan Farmar reminds me of Brandon League, an overhyped has-been or never-was.

lol.

I think it came out around 94 or 95, so he still had a couple MWC years left. That's probably my favorite sitcom ever.

Doc's Malpractice

True but I doubt any of us were willing to sacrifice a first-rounder to dump him. There was even sentiment to optimistically see what he would be capable of for this season after reports of an encouraging off-season on Dudley's part. Doc just exacerbates our problem in his role as a front office executive.

MWC was the best ever. both Kellys of MWC and Saved by the Bell were worshipped in high school. then i ran into a girl in college who went to high school with zach and she told me he was a douche and a half, lol
