Josh Smith released by Pistons - to sign with Rockets

Post#1 » by Laker_Kid » Mon Dec 22, 2014 5:22 pm

I was a fan of this dude back in his Hawks days. Not sure what has become of him now. Do/can we sign him?

With so many contenders interested in him he won't sign onto this sinking ship. Maybe Jennings is available though. I hate the thought of Jennings on this team but I'd trade Nash's salary for Jennings and 2 first round picks

We only have like 45 PFs on the roster to even take a flier on him.

Edit: I think he'll do well as a small ball center. Defends the pick and roll well, blocks shots and runs the break, just keep him away from the ball until he's an arm's length of the rim and you should be fine.

vet minimum and id take him for this season only. Wont get more than 10 shots a game with Kobe and Swaggy getting their share. It would be hilarious. I really dislike Smith though.

We could use the Nash exemption right? We'd be the highest bidder I bet. He could help us land rondo.... But a team with jsmoove and rondo would need 3 GREAT shooters surrounding them. I'd take a flier though and hope he signs on a discount this off-season.

I think we should bring him in. Gives us a shot blocker, some speed and versatility on D which we need.

Maybe Kobe's aggressive type of leadership can get him going. He's been coddled his whole career which is why he's the way he is. I think Bryant can change that.

He'll end up with Houston, Clippers or Dallas watch. This has to be setup so he could end up with one of those squads watch lol

I don't think the Mavs go for it. It would really mess up their chemistry especially with Rondo. I think the Rockets have a good chance since hes friends with Dwight. I don't think the clips really need him either. It will be interesting to see what team picks him up. If I were him i'd be embarrassed.

Would be pretty surprised if he doesn't go to Houston.

He's not going to Houston or at least I doubt it. It's going to be either Sacramento or Dallas.

On the bright side, Detroit might start winning games now. Top 5 pick on the Horizon

Cleveland is a perfect destination for him to play center. They have shooting from all 4 spots to make him not venture beyond the 15ft range, he can block shots, run the break with Lebron and be useful plus they several lack a big that can stay healthy.
